its not irony, but its something for you to think of.
it clearly shows that their prayers, worship are all in vain because they're not following whats the bible written or commanded but rather rely on their own understanding and want to enjoy both worlds.

A true followers will be identified by their works, so if their works is not good then they've followed the wrong doctrine.
