Sounds like a one shot deal, master monrose~ ang makuwa ra nato is maybe an article sa news or a small spot on TV. Ang mas maayo ay ang idea ni pnoize2k7 which he posted before on this thread...

- What you actually do is to stop watching these movies(and TV series) and instead support the cebuano independent filmmakers, such as SineBuano, who have been producing Visayan short films to be shown in Manila and elsewhere.

At least in this way, more and more people will be aware how diverse and different the cultures here in the islands. And hopefully this will not be cause for division but for celebration.

Ang nindot unta is to disperse these alternative mediums, such as Visayan/Ilokano/whatever dialect literature, films and music, to the point that these will become very very popular and appreciated anywhere~ by anyone :mrgreen:

actually, i don't let these portrayals affect me... yes, i admit that some or most Visayans really do have an accent when speaking Tagalog because in the first place our first language (meaning the first words that we uttered and we grew up with) is not Tagalog... But the thing that sometimes bothers me is why do some people make fun of it... after all, it is what we call as diversity. it's certainly not a joking matter and for us Visayans, it's not a thing to be ashamed of.. so i hope that we would all be more open-minded and learn to accept that we all have our differences...

well ahak sad oi.. pero ana man jud ng mga taga Manila feeling superior kusog kaau mang look down ug mga taga probinsya...hinoon kasagaran jud mag maid didto sa manila mga bisdak pero wala sad silay right mo generalise sa mga taga Cebu as maids oi hinoon sa ako lang bulok jud ko magtagalog pero it doesn't mean nga dili ta kabalo mo speak ug english oi....

i think these were changed already. perhaps scripwriters and directors realized that we bisaya dont find it funny. naa may dialogue si kim sa my girl or si beauty sa iisa pa lamang nga mag cebuano. ABS-CBN did it not in bad taste. sa PBB bitaw free man kaau mag bisaya ang mga bisaya didto. i dont know sa other station kay mega manila RA raba na ilang audience..

bitaw, GMA and other TV stations should be sensitive when it comes to these things. They should know unsay funny sa dili..

worst is when mga bisaya pa gud na artista ang mgportray kani mga bisaya-speaking roles! especially so if kabalo ang audience na bisaya jud ni sila. they'll think that its really the way visayans speak. ahay. this is really misleading and demeaning!
