im catholic and gay. but i wuld say that the Church is not the law. its wrong to assume that the whole nation is under one faith.
legalize same *** marriage! of course the church will never do the formal ceremony. the legalization is mainly for giving more rights/protection for gay couples.
I feel sad in hearing such argument from you. You are part of the body of Christ and as a part of it, it is our responsibility to defend our faith. Even though the church will not do the formal ceremony, legalization of same *** marriage should not be allowed.
please site some examples why the legalization of the same *** marriage will offer more rights and protection for gay couples.
jus to give u an idea...
Vermont in USA allows same *** marriage. Here is a list of benefits awarded same-*** partners in Vermont:
* Laws relating to title, tenure, descent and distribution, intestate succession, waiver of will, survivorship, or other incidents of the acquisition, ownership, or transfer (during life or at death) of real or personal property, including eligibility to hold property as tenants by the entirety.
* Causes of action related to or dependent upon spousal status, including an action for wrongful death, emotional distress, loss of consortium, dramshop, or other torts or actions under contracts reciting, related to, or dependent upon spousal status.
* Probate law and procedure, including nonprobate transfer.
* Adoption law and procedure.
* Group insurance for state employees.
* Spouse abuse programs.
* Protection against discrimination based upon marital status.
* Victim's compensation rights.
* Workers' compensation benefits.
* Emergency and non-emergency medical care and treatment, hospital visitation and notification.
* Terminal care documents and durable power of attorney for health care execution and revocation.
* Family leave benefits.
* State public assistance benefits(Vermont).
* State and municipal tax laws, except for estate tax provisions.
* Marital privilege and testimonial immunity laws.
* The homestead rights of a surviving spouse and homestead property tax allowance.
* Loans to veterans
* The definition of family farmer
* Making, revoking, and objecting to anatomical gifts by others.
* State pay for military service.
* Applications for absentee ballots.
* Family landowner rights to fish and hunt.
* Legal requirements for wage assignments.
* Affirmance of relationship.
* Parties to a civil union can modify the terms, conditions, or effects of their legal relationship in the same manner and to the same extent as married people can through premarital and other agreements recognized and enforceable under the Vermont law.
Gays shouldn't too much worry about marriages, after-all marriage is just a money-wasting tradition.
If same *** marriage will be legalized, I would also push *** in public and even rape to be legalized too and yeah, even organize a contest as to who could make the best *** video and do it in an annual basis. Isn't it so cool, everybody won't be having any problems having *** and getting caught and also having the chance of being awarded? LOL
My suggestion would be migrate to places where same *** marriages are allowed and legal and live there. It's simple as that. Don't try to bend things for the minority, not even all homos are in favor of same *** marriages.
Catholics will and always protest same *** marriage...
and as long as the people in our country are mostly Christians, this will never be legalized...
i do hope gay marriages will never push through in our country.... unsaon na lang....
