dont get confused.... BDO bought Equitable PCI ... the same account number
you have with EPCI still applies...

you just have to do your normal transactions with the bank but the bonus thing is if
you do ATM withdrawals in any BDO banks.... wala na kay bank charge.... thats the beauty
of 2 banks merging or one bank being bought by the other bank...

IIRC, did'nt EPCI and BDO "merge" or something?

The two branches here in Mandaue were changed somewhere around January-February. Also, I recently noticed that the three Equitable PCI Banks along Magallanes have also been "re-baged" as well.

    Question:

I have an Equitable PCI Bank ATM payroll account, and just recently I've been experiencing problems withdrawing from this "re-baged" banks' ATM. Something about my branch (Equitable PCI Bank infront of SM) being unavailable or the ATM being unable to complete my transaction.

Should this be a cause of alarm for me?

    Any comments are welcomed.

    @MODS:

Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong thread.

Please have this transferred if necessary.

    Thanks.

Actually EPCI no longer exist in which the company was already bought by BDO, I may say they bought the name and everything but not the system. EPCI actually is the bank which is technologically superb but BDO did not include that in their package that is why it was sold to Metro Bank that makes Metro Bank very efficient and fast with regards to transaction. As you can observe BDO is still doing the manual way of transacting the accounts of the depositors and is very time consuming.

Hehe! Just adding some insights for those who do not know....

sa akong payroll account kay EPCI man toh. then our HR gave us new account numbers (although i rarely transact over the counter).

i still use my old EPCI ATM card. my officemates said that BDO will replace the old EPCI cards with BDO cards. i dunno how long it will take. plus, the BDO cards are debit cards as well.

one thing i like about the ATMs now is that i can reload my phone. plus more ATM terminals.

    good thing BDO bought EPCI...

BDO is now considered as the most liquid bank in the Phils.
imagine all cash sales of SM all over the country being deposited to BDO...

and for those with problems like this, kindly contact the bank where you have your account before going to them para makabalo ka unsa dapat buhaton...

yep...because the owner of SM is a shareholder of BDO as well... so employees of SM are issued BDO atm cards for their payroll, no wonder.

wala may problema akong epci atm card, dawat raman sa tanan bdo... no charges...

weeks after merging, prior sa change sa ila system ug sa pag.renovate sa branch, nagpadala man ang epci-ayala branch nga kinahanglan ko mo.fill-up ug new form para sa akong bag.o nga bdo account number.. reason: all epci accounts will be removed in the system after 1 year from the date of new system implementation.. meaning, bdo account number na ang gamiton for withdrawal, deposits, bdo-to-bdo transactions..

I've read at some of the comments recently and I guess the problems I encountered when I first started this thread was just the result of the transition from EPCI to BDO.

Anyways, I actually meant "re-bagged" as in "re-labeled." EPCI bank being re-labeled as BDO.
