    Canon and Tradition, p. 263
"The authority of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed...the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own authority."

so sad to know. not authorize by Scriptures alone, and not by command of Christ.

even my friends can't believe. well, i'm not forcing you to believe me. by then, the more i'm convinced that canon and tradition is not the good enough for teaching.

    Henry Gibson, Catechism Made Easy, # 2, 9th edition, vol. 1, p. 341-342
"From this we may understand how great is the authority of the church in interpreting or explaining to us the commandments of God - an authority which is acknowledged by the universal practice of the whole Christian world, even of those sects which profess to take the holy Scriptures as their sole rule of faith, since they observe as the day of rest not the seventh day of the week demanded by the Bible, but the first day. Which we know is to be kept holy, only from the tradition and teaching of the Catholic church."

    bro newton,

i think one must understand cultures, traditions and other beliefs before one will impose his own beliefs.
because it's useless to pour water into a full cup, and it's even useless to pour water when one does not have...

so therefore, same faith even different cultures. cultures doesn't effect our faith. cultures only effect our traditions.

traditions of God and traditions of men are not the same.

no bro... cultures and tradition do affect faith...
when you are in rome be a roman, when you are in the phils be a filipino...
and i don't think (i may be wrong) there is something called traditions of God, because God is beyond that...
