My mother goes to church with her new Gemeni SL and on the next Sunday with her Chevrolet pickup and on the next Sunday her Ford Fiera and on the next, Volkswagen.
She was just trying to show off how many cars she got.

But at that age when I go to the same church as her, I walked.
From Minglanilla to Tabunok I walked.
When she asks me why I have to walk when we have a car to ride to church,
I replied--- it is the only thing I can offer to God.
I walk to give my own sacrifice.
For all the things God gave me.

We should not judge the Mormons or question their actions.
They could be doing it as a sacrifice for God.
I think you're bringing or diverting the issue.
Its a fact that their church is a rich one, and they can afford to buy car or airplane.
but the question is, what's the reason they keep on walking.

because if you're going to ask them personally they love to ride and not to walk.
but through their doctrine they must walk because... and that's for you to find out first or ask a MORMONS to answer here.

by walking bro, is that a sacrifice?
to whom? to yourself or to GOD?
where in the bible bro that its a sacrifice?

    Peace!

Mao gani gitawag ug sacrifice kay maka afford man unta mag taxi or mopalit ug car pero wala lang niya gibuhat kay para mas daghan siya ug masugatan nga tawo kung maglakaw. So gi sacripisyo niya ang taxi or car in favor of a more hassle walking.

Jesus made the sacrifices, for us.

For us. We don't need to sacrifice, we need to love one another..

I am a mormon and our church is not a mormon, it calls The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We were called by this name because of the book of mormon.

Anyway, I do not want to convert anyone here because we respect every religion on earth and there are plenty of good people around and that is the main reason why " Missionaries walk " to proselyte. Get to know people and teach them if they are interested. No need money to be taught even the book of mormon we distributed is free

Yes, I am a missionary too before and served in Bacolod Mission.

I will try to answer some of your questions if I am not busy

Haven't I already shared something before my previous post? It's pretty obvious that when someone actually responds to your question you immediately pull out a verse or two from the bible and point out that you're right, and everyone else is wrong (Like you always do btw )

Anyway LDS missionaries walk because they're encouraged to. It promotes humility, frugality all that stuff I'm sure the bible mentions yeah? See when you talk as if you know a lot about the congregation and say things like...

if you're going to ask them personally they love to ride and not to walk.
Its a fact that their church is a rich one, and they can afford to buy car or airplane.

That means you probably know the answer to your own shallow question right? But you want somebody to come out and post something in response so you can slam their beliefs to the ground. Stop beating around the bush and say what you want to say rcruman. Like I said, bashing the mormons only makes you look like a bigot.

again there are reason why people ask questions.

    to know the answers

    and

to test if they know (like a teacher do to his/her students).

so asa ka nahimutang ana sa dihang nangutana ko?
nahimutang baka sa situasyon nga wala kahibalo?
or nahimutang ka sa situasyon nga gusto makahibalo pud?

you can ask nicely bro but it seems its not in your vocabulary "nicely".
then search in the google if you want, then if you found it then post it here.
did I catch your attention now?

    Peace!

I also went on a mission...yes walking around sa area bisag naa pamlete!!!

Reason? We want to be familiar with the area in terms of where to go and the specific houses of members and investigators (amo gipangtudluan).

Take note that those missionaries are not from that place where they are assigned, they want to be as close and familiar as possible to those people whom they love and share what they believe in...

They normally stay (or assigned in that area) for a specific period of time (ave.? 3 moths).

    CIA - No!
Walking as part of healthy habit and excercise - Yes!
Limited allowance for travelling - Yes!

Mission for us is a Sacrifice...(Time, Money, Effort and Energy)...We save our own money so we will have something to spend serving people (sharing the gospel or good news or glad tiding as what other termed it) during our Mission with the assistance of our Family, Relatives, Friends and the Church (Yes, we spend our own money as much as possible)...

We just don't walk for nothing...we share, we love, we sacrice for everyone!!!

BTW....I am not from Cebu but learn the beautiful people here....Working as a Supervisor on one of the Call Centers here at IT Park!!!
