Just tried MPlayerWii-0.02 and it great! Now the Wii can play DivX and XviD videos
Now to see how the GeeXbox port compares to MplayerWii. Can't try it yet since I don't have spare USB keyboard. I hope they make a GeeXbox port release which has can be controled by Wiimote...

Homebrew Browser v0.2.0a: fixed downloading problems

Now here's something that would make many a Wii homebrew gamer's life a bit easier. If you are not familiar yet with teknecal's Homebrew Browser, it's a pretty nifty Wii application that lets you check out and download the latest 'brew without any need for downloading from the PC, or even taking the SD card out. How cool is that? Homebrew Browser definitely lives up to its name.

This particular version has a few bugfixes thrown in. Here's what teknecal has to say about what's new in this current release:

Small bugfix, downloading Raytracer, Wiiwhiteboard, etc should now work

Not only can you download and try out homebrew with the Homebrew Browser, you can also manage them by updating, deleting homebrew applications/games that you don't like anymore all within the same program.

To get the Homebrew Browser up and running, just boot up the ELF file included in the download using your preferred method of starting homebrew. You can navigate through the browser's GUI by using the Wiimote and IR.

If you already have previous homebrew installed in your Wii that is also available through the Homebrew Browser, you may notice some colored indicators marking them. The indicators are pretty useful themselves: a green-colored tick indicates that you have the latest version of the program, while a blue tick says otherwise.

Do take note, however, that the Homebrew Browser does not have all of the applications and games as of the moment, but will be eventually added over time. You can check out the list of homebrew available through the Homebrew Browser in Via link.

'add ug dodge'? Unsa nang dodge? Ang makuha nakong reference to dodge when related to wii is dodging sa Mario Kart.

    Title Uninstaller - v0.1

Redbird has released a new application called the Title Uninstaller, which can remove any title from your Wii regardless of whether you have the original file used to install. It can remove titles such as the Homebrew Channel, which only are released in ELF format.

    From the release notes:

I present the Title Uninstaller v0.1. Basically, you could say it’s a WAD Uninstaller that does not require the original WAD. The operation is as follows:

    * Sample titles installed on the Wii (only normal channels, nothing in the system).

    * Allows you to select a particular title and delete it.

The process of erasure is identical to that of WAD_manager, but removing the information from the Wii itself rather than require an external WAD. The advantage is that it is more convenient and does not require the original, which sometimes is hard to find or the wrong version, etc. …

    Precautions:

    * The process of erasure is the same as the WAD_manager, so you should not give problems. It deletes everything that needs to be deleted, but the Wii will still remember traces of what was installed (daily usage, etc. …).

    * If you install channels with the identifier of the HBC (’HAXX’), you will delete all of them. The problem is that the real Homebrew Channel cannot be picked out.

    * If you delete the HBC intentionally or by mistake, the program can give an elbow DUMP or leave the Wii hung back while trying to HBC. The erasure will be carried out correctly, but the program can not go back to something that no longer exists. That only happens with the original HBC. The other channels, although having the same identifier that HBC should not give problems.
At least dili na ta mag-store sa original wad files sa sd card para mag-uninstall og unneeded nga channels ;D
