holy hell! why was the macross 1 there!? anybody could fill me in?

No idea as well. It has really set some interesting discussion over at the forums of macrossworld.com though.

duda ko ang megaroad 2 to cia since same2x ra og design. then again i might wrong and macross 1 really did do a spacefold from earth to gallia-4 to be thrashed and considered a thing of the past.

Command of the Megaroad-01 was given to war hero Misa Hayase Ichijyo. Aboard the fleet were her husband, Hikaru Ichijyo, leading the entire Skull group*, and the famous idol singer Lynn Minmay.

The Megaroad-01 set out towards the center of the galaxy in 2012. However in July 2016, barely four years into its voyage toward the center of the Milky Way, all contact with the fleet abruptly ceased. This information was never made known to the general public for fear it would jeapordize all ongoing and subsequent colonization efforts. The many victories and momentous events involving Minmay and the Skull Team during the Space War have been played up over and again to the point of legend ever since, just so everyone not already in the know would believe Megaroad-01 and its fleet are still in active contact with Command. A direct result of this is the release of the film "Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love" in 2031 to remind the masses of the fragile peace they now enjoy with themes like the near extinction of humanity and some of the momentous events leading up to the end of War with the Zentradi and ending with 'Actual' footage of Minmay's Goodbye Concert Tour.*

@team Pura & dzulai: The Megaroad Colonizations ships are NON-TRANSFORMABLE.

What we saw in Episode 12 of Macross Frontier was either the SDF-1 or a possible sister ship of the SDF-1.

BTW, in the pic below you can see the SDF-1 (in its transformed state & similar in appearance top the one seen in episode 12 of Macross Frontier) just behind the SDF-2 that is lifting off.

er, I don't think we're talking about the same megaroad. the one you're referring to was the macross flashback 2012 megaroad. I think the one that went inside my head was this Megaroad 1 schematics w/ 2 ARMD carriers.click me <--click on the lineart @ the bottom of the page for size comparison.

If you trace the timeline, this probably would be the lost megaroad which Misa and Hikaru got in. It could also be possible that this was the sdf-2 design macross frontier was implementing. Then again I could be wrong and just going over my head. For all we know this was something made from the memories of that thing that disabled alto's vf25.

and btw guys, has anyone noticed that Sheryl(Macross F) and Sara(Macross zero) share the same last name?coincidence?

nahan lang jud ko kibaw sa fate nila ni misa, hikaru ug lynn minmay ai. mao jud ang first thing ni come up sa akong mind pagkakita nako sa macross wreckage. i think its a nagging question to every macross series fan. hehehehe and so far sa akong nakita, this series has a lot of homages/references sa mga karaan nga macross serieses. so i guess, this series is the best time to divulge the fate of the original love triangle.

Short Answer: It was not a fake.

It was actually a similar vessel or more like a sister ship to the SDF-1 Macross from the original series. The ship we saw was apparently named Global (I guess it was named in honor of the captain of the SDF-1 Macross featured in the original series). BUT I would like to point out that "Global" IS NOT THE ORIGINAL MACROSS. The original Macross, the one we see in SDF Macross, Macross Plus and even in DYRL is still parked on earth, serving as a military HQ

As to Ranka, she is apparently 1/4 Zentran. The other 3/4 though remains a mystery especially after the events of Episode 14.
