    FYI: Vista supports 4GB of RAM.. it only has it's limitation that is why it reports 3GB instead of 4GB.. check your BIOS to make sure that all the RAMs installed are recognized by your PC...

    This is because it has to map BIOS – including ACPI and legacy video support, PCI bus including bridges and PCI Express support. This will reserve at least 256MB, up to 768MB depending on graphics card installed memory
