News reports, investigations, and lab findings are more credible than a mere YouTube video. Why would they post the whole "rape" scene in the first place? They'd just be putting their own asses on fire for that matter. It could be their way of justifying that it was not rape and of course to get away with it.

‘News blackout’ sa PUP gang rape hiniling

HINILING ng mga abogado ng mga suspect sa pamunuan ng Manila Police District (MPD) ang “pagpapahinto” sa pagpapalabas ng anumang impormasyon kaugnay sa naganap na gang rape sa isang 16-anyos na estudyante ng Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP).

Sa liham na ipinadala ni Atty Melanio “Batas” Mauricio Jr., Secretary Genaral ng Buklod ng Mga Abogadong Tagapagtaguyod ng Adhikaing Sambayanan) o BATAS, kay MPD Director Chief Supt Roberto Rosales, hiniling nito na pahintuin ang pulisya sa pagbibigay ng impormasyon sa media kaugnay sa progreso o anumang nagaganap sa nasabi ng kaso.

Ikinatuwiran ni Mauricio na nagkakaroon na ng trial by publicity at ipinapalabas nang convicted criminals na ang mga suspect gayung mga menor de edad ang mga ito.

Sa ilalim aniya ng Saligang Batas ay dapat silang ituring na inosente hangga’t hindi napapatunayang may sala.

Dagdag pa ni Mauricio na sa ilalim ng Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, binibigyan ng karapatan ang mga menor de edad na suspect sa anumang uri ng kaso na magkaroon ng pribadong buhay at walang impormasyon ang dapat na ilabas.

Nilinaw din ni Mauricio na dapat umanong ang korte o ang piskalya muna ang unang makaalam kung mayroon mang progreso sa naturang kaso na iniimbestigahan ng pulisya at hindi muna ang media.

Hiniling pa ni Mauricio kay Rosales na mamagitan ito para sa isang moratorium o cessation ng anumang impormasyon sa kaso at kung kinakailangan talagang may dapat ilabas na impormasyon ay kailangan munang may court order o dapat humingi muna ng pahintulot.
