    If mag bank to bank nlang diay mo..
    Like opening an international bank account so your $ sender can deposit there instead..

    i'm not sure with banking.. pero as the statement said below..

    the impending Documentary Stamp Tax imposition on all international transfer including OFW remittance is but another scheme of state exaction burdening OFWs and families.

    akng fren bag-o lng nag kuha money... its not 15% but 1.5% (for every 1k kuhaan nila ug 1.50) nag sugod ni pag july 1 2008

    This thread is misleading and quite unfair to Western Union. The charge is not $16 nor is it 15%.


    My mom sent me $400 last week and only P27 pesos was deducted (equivalent to 0.15% or 0.0015)....

    The cute guy/agent (hehehehehe) informed me that this is their new policy. Documentary stamps daw? But it's okay since P27 is just a very small amount.. No need to make a fuss about it, even PAYPAL charges more..
