Exclamation Newbie, Super Newbie, Newbie Share... what are you guys trying to tell us?

I'm just wondering, and I've noticed it becoming common in this sub forum. People calling themselves or their photos -- newbie, super newbie, newbie share. When they or their photos are obviously not. When these people are obviously, well not in the level of masters, but definitely not newbie level.

I mean, come on guys, what are you trying to prove anyway?

I apologize sa mga na igo, but its getting annoying and it's insulting to people who are truly new to photography!

ok ako mo una boss, yes i admit sige ko mo ingon "newbie share, still practicing" what makes it wrong? everyone of us naay self assessment mao nay gi ingon nga honest assessment sa kaugalingon. and dili ra sad na applied sa kani nga forum even sa real life. if you want to stay ur feet on the ground make a self assessment to know where you are. dili sad siguro na annoying kay think the positive side kay ang newbie ma inspire sad ug bisag "newbie or entry level camera's mka output ug acceptable photos", hehehehe and ma enganyo sila ug practice and ask sa mga nka suway na, "sharing is loving" baya boss, mao ni ang purpose nato diri diba?

okey balik ta sa ako.. dinhi naay truly newbie sa photography (meaning starter) pero nindot ug shots. and para nako mas nindot pa ug output compare sa ako. so self assessment, right? thats being honest sa kaugalingon. maybe nindot kog shots, nindot ug colors. pero kung ako tanawn mora man ug kuwang and bati ghapon kay dili nice compare from what people's output here kanang truly mid-level hobbyist. It doesn't mean boss nga dghan ni ingon nga "wow great composition!", "wow nice colors!", "wow! master!", "wow! fyter!" that makes you an experienced photographer knowing nga dghan diay kaayo ug waste compare sa acceptable? see the point there is when you reach the lesser waste mao na mka ingon ka nga "wow! ni improved na gyud ko!". kanang dghan ni admire sa akong shots kay inspirasyon na nako nga mag sige ug practice boss, inspirasyon nako to explore laing accessories nga ma improve pa gyud ako mga shots. mao nga mo ingon gyud ko ug "still practicing". Self assessment ghapon na boss para di modako ang utok nako and mao sad nay suggestion nako sa mga na ilhan nako with my same profession (not photography), para di modako ang utok di na kahibalo mo lingi ug mo tudlo sa mga bago. sa ako profession boss di ko mo ingon nga "15 years nako nga programmer kahibalo nako tanan" ang ako i ingon boss kay "dugay dugay nasad ko pero ako gamit man gud kay BEST Practices"

And hopefully sa mga tinood nga "experienced" photographer diri mag self assessment sad para mka lingi nato diri and mo suggest and motubag sa mga inquiry kay makita baya nato ang path nila dinhi sa forum nga nag sige ug ask way back 2007 annoying sad sge ug ask sa mga masters before nya karon di na sila kahibalo mo lingi sa newbie kay nidako na ang ulo.

Mao nay gi ingon sad boss nga "what's right for today may be wrong for tomorrow" (applied ni sa profession nako, but im sure applied sad ni para dinhi). meaning ana kay "kung para nato sakto na atong composition today and nagsalig ta nga perfect na, and later on sige ta ug practice the next days mahibaloan nato nga naa diay sayop sa akong composition before". that's a self assessment boss.

And for assessing people sad dili basehan ang length of stay or length of tenureship sa company/hobby para mka ingon kag 'master' na. kay dghan naay mga dugay na kayo pero palpak mas maayo pa ang mga fresh (morag ako dugay na pero dghan palpak hehehe). so output based man ko mo assess sa ako self boss mao na nga mo ana gyud ko ug "still practicing" and honestly? yes sge pako practice kay para nako di nako ma replicate akong output yesterday

that's my message here boss. pasalamat gani ko ni boss chip diay kay gitudloan sad ko ug pg frame ug shot sa katong phototrip nato pg September 4 this year.

Matod pa ni Kent Beck (former Programmer at Apple Computer) "posted this on my twitter"

"If you want people to take your advice, you need to solve more problems than you create"

okey ciao boss and good morning...

for me, mura defense mechanism na and also one way to say that you are willing to have your image "criticized" by others.

ambot...ako feeling is OA ra kaayo paminawn nga mag post2x "newbie share" bisan newbie pa. ako, i admit that newbie pko, but if i want my work criticized, i put "C&C welcome". i find the phrase "newbie share" (and their other synonyms) to be a little bit pretentious and a tad bit annoying.

    just my two cents.
