So I gather that you've been everywhere in the US and Europe and have observed most, if not all Filipino nurses, to allow yourself to express such a comment?

And btw, I'm not sure if you got the point of the thread, so let me explain--the thread does not aim to ridicule nor praise anyone, kung nurses ba, or Filipino ba, or not. The point is this--I am personally annoyed by paki-alameros and uzi-seros. I'm one of those individuals who likes to be left alone. However, after I read this news item, I was struck by and mused to myself nga probably (again, probably) if there was a pinoy nurse or health worker in that situation, basin the general nature of pinoys to "know what's going on / what's the matter" could've called attention to the patient on the hospital floor. It even led to an extended scenario in my head nga, if I collapsed on a hospital floor in some strange foreign land, perhaps I'd wish nga naay "maki-alam" sa ako, rather than just ignore me. That was my aim, and my point. I hope it's clearer now.

Being nosey, "paki-alameros", "uzi-mentality" are not Pinoy traits ... they are human traits. Every kind of nationality, race, gender, sexual preference, or whatever defining trait a single person has ... is capable of being one or all three of these Filipino traits or not ... just as you say you aren't. Sorry, Pinoys aren't anymore jumpy or wired on caffeine than any other person on Earth.

Cute story though, but the line of discussion you are aiming for sends this thread to General Discussions.

Well then, after having said that, let's remove the "Pinoy" label. Perhaps the more apt title is "Nosey People Might/Could Make a Difference, RE: CNN Report-Woman Dies at Hospital".

For sure it also happens here sa atua. Look at those private hospitals in an event that any patient cannot be given attention because of no downpayment policy if there will be no down payment or swipe on your credit card no admission mas worst pa siguro mga admission cases dres atua.. naa na siguro na matay while waiting to be admitted and the have all the attention that the patient needed but they cannot treat them because way kwarta kana mau nay mas grabe sakit kaayo ug ikaw ma hitabo an ingon ana.

So basically, the incident above, the news item about that woman dying in a hospital due to negligence--that's all normal. What a great, and wonderfully normal world we live in, no?

i don't like the idea of being a kibitzer..i'm sure it has its pro's and con''s but the idea of it is not good.

if there were a filipino nurse on the scene, what would trigger i think to help the old lady is that as a filipino, we are naturaly caring specially for the old one's. i don't think its being paki-alamero.. the idea of it is fundamentaly flawed.
