sir, where did you get/find this herp and how long have you been keeping it? its kinda hard to distiguish this from the pics alone... if you still have this, can you take a photo of its ventral side and a closer side-view photo of its head? i have a very heavy feeling of this snake that its what i think it is (basing on its cranial features).
if its ok with you, i'd like to look at it personally. pls contact me 0920-731-0220, we can arrange a meeting...
word of caution.. never try to handle or hold any snake, esp. this one..
be sure to text me asap sir...

i think its venomous sir. kinda look like a viper to me. a cobra maybe...avoid handling it sir, coz its bite is fatal
wow..how did you actually caught that![]()
That's a cobra sir, a Philippine Cobra (Naja philippinensis), probably a male due to the color and scalation pattern near the ventral side of its tail.. I have encountered this snake before and quite frankly been bitten by it more than a couple of time already. Its commonly called "Piņahon" in vernacular. Its a relatively small type of cobra compared to the other cobra species we have here, but its venom lethality (mm/kg) per full envenomation is extremely high. FYI, this particular species is the most venomous cobra.
So, its up to you if you keep it. But the bite (believe me...), is NEVER worth it.. But if your willing to give it to me for safe-keeping, ill gladly accept it. I still have some anti-venins here in my fridge for that particular species..
And by comparison to the bite of this snake to other venomous snake species esp. the viper, i'd rather be bitten by this. THe venom of the viper is far less deadlier than the cobra, but the tissue damage it does is far more devastating....
