that is correct... we only recognize those books that were deemed by the scholars to have been written by prophets and scribes that were mandated by prophets (Old Testament) and the apostles or scribes that were authorized by the apostles (New Testament)...
please refer to this link:
Roman Catholic Bible Versions
(for the explanation of the apocrypha and why it is not acceptable by other branches of the Christian community...)
I qoute, "They included the Apocrypha (which Catholics call the Deuterocanonical books) as canonical, they sometimes showed a Catholic bias in the translation of the text, and they were printed with explanatory notes which served to instruct the reader in traditional Roman Catholic interpretations. The "Canon Law" of the Roman Church required all Bible versions to include such explanatory notes, and it also required all editions to be reviewed and officially approved by a Bishop of the Roman Church.".
Ako pasabot mam was if you admire Jesus and you found Him to be turthful then dapat we should believe in His words that says..." I am the Way the truth and the life and no man comes to the father except through me".
This is an exclusive claim to what is true and totally disagrees with relativism w/c you implied during your last post.
to bluntly put it..." ITs Jesus or follow the false path".
Indeed, Soli Deo Gloria![]()

@devolebsdog
...thanks bro.
@Necro
Yes I was an RC. I did not become a Born-Again Christian just by reading the Bible that has the Apocrypha in it. Kindly read what I have mentioned in my answers to bcasabee's questions.
Nota Bene: This might be offensive to RC's (rest assured I am not intending to offend anybody), but if you have doubts whether your church reflects (or even behaves) the way the early Christian church -- i.e., being well-rooted to the Scriptures and preaches Jesus Christ (and not just the out-of-nowhere escapades of your priest or minister), then I would advise you to take heed to the discovery of going back to the basics -- to the Word of God or the Bible itself.
May this be an avenue for you to search for what is truth and not just swallow everything what your church leaders would shove into your throats.
...going back to Necro's questions...
About the Catholic teachings, yes there are teachings (salvation by faith plus works, graven images, the veneration of Mary, praying to the saints and Mary, Rosary, the rite of the RC Communion, Purgatory, to name a few) that contradicts what the Word of God is teaching. It took me a while to decide whether I should stay in a church that continues to feed its flock with teachings that for me does not adhere to what the Bible teaches. The difficulties of accepting the fact that the religion handed down to me by my parents (take note I am not being disrespectful to my parents) was in no way continuing what the early Christian church have laid out was like a slap in the face for me. Has the RC church introduced and taught Jesus the way He ought to be? No. This led me to seek Jesus as the way He is (and that is, according to what was written in the Scriptures), without the religious overtures of this Traditional Religion. Tradition and extra-biblical teachings so permeated the true message of the Gospel that I was appalled by what was preached Sunday after Sunday in the Mass.
I hope I did not offend anyone. If I did, my apologies.
I want to know the real Jesus. Will you not be? How? Through the Bible. Is it sufficient? Yes it is.
How about you?
@mordecai,
thank you for the advise bro, i know that RC church leaders has lots of flaws but i have no doubts on RC faith what-so-ever.
my family lineage has been with RC for as long as I can remember, we pray together, we go to church together and doing things together with regards to our faith made our family stronger. so seeing how RC binds my grandparents family and my parents family, for me, i think it's enough proof that me and my own family will stay in RC...
...good for you, bro...same here...
But as Jesus have said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6)" made me think twice (and even more) whether being sincere and alright with what my family is doing qualifies me to be with God's presence. After all, as what the verse tells us, nowhere can I find RC, any Christian denomination, or even any religion that says they are the way and the truth and the life, that no one comes to the Father except through any them. Only Jesus made that claim.
If you get to understand the total depravity of man because of his/her sinfulness, that he/she can only be with God by His grace through faith in Jesus alone, then you will know what I am talking about.
