    those people who you call "perfect" aztina are what we call in ours as self-righteous, bloated headed, arrogant (remember, Jesus teaches us to be humble in ourselves and in our ways)... believe me, God, does not like them too, those people we're called Pharissee's in Jesus time... RC, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Dating Daan, Pentecostal, all these don't matter if you're not worshiping the right God... Some people might be very well-versed in the bible, doesn't mean that they are saved... even the Luci memorized the bible page by page so he can use it against you... some actually just started reading the bible, no memory verses and all but they actually are closer to God than bible scholars... its all in your heart, if Jesus Christ is in there, then you have it all going for you...

    This might be an OT to the topic but allow me (and bear with me) to answer your questions...

    ...yup I did, part of my spiritual journey. At first I disdain those ideas that contradicted my cherished beliefs. I even branded those who opposed the RCC teachings as heretics. But later on as I reconsider what they are saying I found out they make a lot of sense and is worth investigating. I decided to keep an open mind and I thought to myself: I want to know the Jesus of my faith without the religious overtures of the traditional religion that I was brought up with. After all, Christianity is a relationship with God and not a religion in itself, as I found out. I want to be serious and sincere about it, for I have read all along in the Scriptures that whenever someone would seek and know God with all his heart, God would be more than willing to reveal Himself to that person. I cling on to God's Word wherein He said to Jeremiah "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). So I set to find out the most exciting and adventurous journey of my life -- and that is getting to know God through Jesus His Son, whom He revealed Himself (Colossians 1:15, 19) for us, to know Him personally.

    To make the story short, I ended up abandoning those beliefs I cherished since childhood (especially those that contradicts to the teachings of the Scriptures) and clung on to what the Bible has revealed about who God is. I came into believing that if God claimed that ALL of the Scriptures is His handiwork (2 Timothy 3:16-17), then I should give it with utmost importance and highest regard. That when it comes to faith and practice: as to how I should relate to God Himself, then His Word -- the Bible, is enough.

    I asked myself: Why should I remain in the religious system that I grew up with when all I wanted to know about God is found in His Word? <-- Going back to what I thought as wanting to know God without the religious overtures of the traditional religion I was brought up with.

    So I ventured (with the ridicules of my family, friends, and loved ones) on joining the group of people (calling themselves "Born-Again Christians") in order to know more about the claims of Jesus and the way a person should relate to God, His Word, to prayer, and to other Believers of Jesus Christ.

    To enumerate those ideas or teachings should I say one-by-one is too many to mention here. I might end up writing voluminously. What I want you to do is to pick up your own Bible, read it then compare it to the religious teachings you have right now and see if it is in accordance with God's Word or not: or simply put, if it is Biblical or not.

    It takes a great amount of humility you know to see the truth for yourself and do something about it.

    admirable bro mordecai...
    to qoute from what you said "After all, Christianity is a relationship with God and not a religion in itself."
    i think you are right, in my case as a christian, i found a stong relationship with Christ in RC. i know some teachings are not mentioned in the bible (only in Catholic doctrines), however in my experience, doing some of them brings me closer to God..

    ...Soli Deo Gloria!

    @Mr.Ho_chia

    ...maybe it would be good if you post the entire argument mounted by Ravi Zacharias (as to man's Origin, Meaning, Morality, Destiny) in Lee Strobel's "The Case for Faith", which I believe is your resource for this thread.

    Thank you daan Bro
