i'm not talking about a criminal record "on paper". accdg to the news, he (the sikyu) has also been linked to the killing of businessman Renerio Arrogante III last March in Daanbantayan, where he allegedly acted as the gunman’s backup. AFAIK, these Sumabongs hail from Bogo where the LBP robbery took place. doul ra pud ni sa Daan Bantayan.

so murag mka duda gyud ta bah...anyway, it will be up to the authorities to verify the testimonies of the 3 witnesses with hard evidences. otherwise, hanap pa na sa dies panas.

basta one thing lang is for sure. Testimonies of witnesses will hold more water than a suspect's alibi...

    well, it could be possible. who knows. i just have a conspiracy theory nga looks interesting though far-fetched. here goes;

Joel Sumabong was linked to the LBP Bogo robbery. His cousin (the sikyu) was linked to the killing of businessman Arrogante in Daan Bantayan before and now this killing of Atty Sison.

Based on what i heard and read, the Sumabongs are (or were) employed directly or indirectly by a high ranking ex-military (or ex-police ba toh) official who also hails from Bogo. This ex-military or ex-police (who happens to be also a businessman in the construction industry) tawo ni sa mga Martinezes. Now let's not forget that there was one time nga c Bogo Mayor Martinez was alleged to be masterminding the LBP Bogo robbery. The possible conspiracy link? The Martinezes have close ties with the Radazas...

Close this If Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Arturo Radaza does not push through with his plan to offer a reward for information that could lead authorities to the mastermind behind the killing of lawyer Richard Sison, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said he will.

Osmeña said he was giving Radaza a week to put up a reward.

“I am surprised why Radaza is not offering any reward. Maybe he is not interested,” Osmeña said.

The reward may be necessary to entice witnesses to speak against those behind the incident.

The mayor said he believed that the mastermind behind Sison’s murder was “a very influential person.”
“Might be a businessman, might be a politician.... Definitely not an ordinary person,” he said.

The mayor said he was open to the possibility that the mastermind may be someone from the Philippine National Police.

Osmeña said that while he trusts the police in Cebu City, Sison’s family does not for undisclosed reasons.

Lapu-Lapu City officials, however, said the city government is likely to offer a reward soon.

“The City Council will gladly approve (a reward) if the mayor will have an endorsement,” said Lapu-Lapu City Vice Mayor Mario Amores. “We at the City Council look at this more as an executive discretion.”

He said that when the time comes that Radaza submits a proposal for a reward, councilors would not object.
Lapu-Lapu City Attorney Vincent Lim said Osmeña’s proposal was not unwelcome.

“If Tommy (Osmeña) wants to give a reward, the city (Lapu-Lapu) will welcome his gesture,” Lim said. “After all, attorney Sison was murdered in Cebu City.”

Lim emphasized that he was not speaking in behalf of the mayor.

Radaza could not be reached yesterday.

Osmeña also said other suspects apart from Nemuel Sumabong, whom the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) arrested Tuesday morning, may still surface.

Witnesses tagged Sumabong as the person who shot Sison last May 21. They said it was he who alighted from a motorcycle driven by another person, approached the driver’s side of the pickup truck driven by Sison, and shot the lawyer through the vehicle’s window.

Meanwhile, the NBI-7 said they were willing to let Sumabong go if prosecutors tell them to.

Ernesto Macabare, executive officer of NBI-7, said if the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office approves the motion that Sumabong’s lawyer plans to file, the NBI-7 would not oppose it.

Wendell Quiban, Sumabong’s lawyer, earlier said he would file a motion with the Cebu City prosecutor asking for Sumabong’s release. He said his client was not arrested in a hot pursuit operation, nor was there a warrant issued for his arrest.

Macabare, however, said he believed the prosecutor would deny the motion because several witnesses have come forward and identified Sumabong as Sison’s killer.

Medardo de Lemos, director of NBI-7, said he appreciated the risk that witnesses took to identify Sumabong.

“If they just keep quiet, their life won’t change. But here they are,” he said.

Quiban yesterday visited Sumabong at the NBI-7 to get his counter-affidavit on the murder case filed against the suspect.

The affidavit would be attached to the motion Quibain plans to file with the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.

Quibain said he had his own witnesses who could attest that Sumabong was on duty as a guard on Gochan Street, downtown Cebu City on May 21.

But Rennan Oliva, a supervising agent with the NBI-7, said the suspect’s name is not in the list of licensed guards in the records of the Firearms/Explosives, Security Agency/Guard Supervision Section of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas.

Oliva said this should help counter the claim of the suspect that he was working as a guard at the time of Sison’s death.

    maybe theres a conspiracy...hmmm

da ti-aw mo na...tanawa murag pareha2x ra mi ug theory ni Tomas!!!

"the mastermind could be someone coming from the PNP.", said Tomas... now that could mean naa pa ga work sa PNP or wala na.

The mayor said he believed that the mastermind behind Sison’s murder was “a very influential person.”
“Might be a businessman, might be a politician.... Definitely not an ordinary person,” he said.

we could also say the mastermind is both a businessman and a politician...pwede pud duha: usa ka businessman ug usa ka politician...
