    Sixers want Randolph

Philadelphia needs an offense down low. Contrary to common belief, Sixers coachMaurice Cheeks and Randolph had great respect for each other in Portland. The draft lottery takes place tonight in seductive Secaucus. Usually, this type of pomp and circumcision doesn't permeate NBA Entertainment's studio until I leave the building for the night.

    ========================

    Nets activity

The Nets have made some cursory inquiries with Phoenix (about Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa), more substantive discussions with Toronto (about Andrea Bargnani), and there has been some dialogue with Denver about Carmelo Anthony.

Though one Nets official claims that "other conversations have a much better chance of fruition," the Anthony scenario is the most interesting -- and hazardous. The 6-8 forward is one of the league's elite scorers, on the threshold of his prime, and no one knows him better than the guy who drafted him, Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe.

I say Nets give up: Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and New Jersey's lottery pick

    for

Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby

"Yes I have been reading about it…and I would say it’s BS right now.” Anthony's agent Calvin Andrews said.

    Tradeable picks?

As Milwaukee tries to get back into the playoffs, trading their lottery pick may become a possibility, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting.

We're open to anything," general manager John Hammond said. "And we should be. Don't you think?"

The Bucks current sit at position 7 ahead of the NBA Draft lottery, which takes place tonight ahead of the Pistons-Celtics game 1 clash.

Hammond said he was not opposed to trading first-round draft choices.

"With our situation and where we're at as an organization today, I don't think we can be opposed to anything," he said. "We have to be open to any or all discussions. When we say we're going to explore all possibilities to improve this roster, you would have to be open-minded to anything, including maybe even including the draft pick."

If the Bulls do not get lucky in tonight's lottery, where someone like Derrick Rose could solve the team's problems at point guard for the next 10 years, then look for John Paxson to be active in the trade market as the draft nears, writes K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls current sit in position 9, and are a long shot at best to move into the top three.

    ==============================

The Lakers appeared interested in forward Ron Artest earlier this season, but rumors could pick up this summer involving Los Angeles and the Kings, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Kobe Bryant has admitted that he wouldn't mind playing alongside Artest, and there is a growing belief that the strong personalities of Bryant and Coach Phil Jackson could help keep Artest in line.

As a restricted free agent, Ron would have to take a pay cut to the projected midlevel exception of approximately $5.6 million.

A sign-and-trade doesn't seem to make sense as the Lakers will likely be looking to unload a bad contract like Vladimir Radmanovic.

    NBA DRAFT LOTTERY RESULTS!!!

    No Bull: BULLS WIN LOTTERY

Grabeh. With only 17 chances, Chicago topped the lottery. Michael Beasley jud ila i-pick ani, definitely because they need a scorer inside. They're gonna have to trade some of their bigs, i.e. Tyrus Thomas

Rounding up the top 14 are:

    2 - Miami
    3 - Minnesota
    4- Seattle
    5- Memphis
    6- New York
    7- LA Clippers
    8- Milwaukee

Hawks hire former-Seattle GM Rick Sund

Murag last week ra man ni nga news, pero ako lang i-post.

    Positives:
Traded for Bucks' Ray Allen for aging Gary Payton in 2003
Traded Vin Baker to Boston in exchange for Kenny Anderson (expiring contract)
Traded Vladimir Radmanovic for Chris Wilcox

    Negatives:
Sund has a poor taste in drafting newbies: i.e. Robert Swift, Luke Ridnour, Nick Collison, Saer Sene. I know they're solid contributors (except for Sene) but he passed over Josh Howard, David West, Travis Outlaw, Josh Smith and many more.

Hopefully, he'll know what to do about restricted FA's Josh Smith and Josh Childress.

    Arenas to opt out

Gilbert Arenas, who was cleared to begin rehabilitating his surgically repaired left knee over the weekend, still plans to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Washington Wizards to become an unrestricted free agent. But he doesn't plan to file the necessary paperwork with the league any sooner than the June 30 deadline. The free agency period opens July 1, and Arenas has until June 30 to opt out of a deal that would pay him $12.8 million with the Wizards next season. Yesterday, via a text message, he revealed his plan to wait until the final day.

When asked why he planned on waiting until June 30 to opt out, Arenas wrote, "I just want to wait." Arenas expects to make a full recovery by the time training camp opens in October. Yesterday, he wrote that he has followed his plan so far: traveling and spending time with his family when he might otherwise be in the gym working on his game. "Everything feels good now," he wrote. "I have to get it strong this month."

Pistons and Spurs: to break core?

You get the feeling that Dumars will, indeed, break up the core group this time around. There's a chance that one, maybe two pieces, will be different in the starting lineup. Many expect one of those players not back next season is forward Rasheed Wallace. What a difference a year makes. After Wallace blew up in the fourth quarter of Game 6 in the conference finals against Cleveland last season -- he was ejected -- many fans cried for the Pistons to get rid of him because of his antics.

Wallace will be 34 in September. He has one year left on his contract ($13.7 million). Because of that, and because he still can be a force especially in a contract year, Wallace has trade value. Certainly Dumars will at least test the waters to see what return he might be able to get on Wallace. He might even look to package him with another starter.

How about the coach, Flip Saunders? Rumors are circling about sending him out and bringing VP Michael Curry in.

See if you've heard this one before: The Spurs need younger, more athletic players who can beat people off the dribble. It's exactly what they should have added last July, instead of bringing in another aging standstill shooter in Damon Stoudamire, whose only action against the Lakers in the West finals was nine minutes of mop-up duty in the Spurs' 30-point loss in Game 2. This summer they can offer the mid-level exception, but they're not going to break up their nucleus of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Limited by what could be an arthritic condition in his ankle, Ginobili scored 10 points or less in all four losses to L.A.

    -------------------------------

    Marbury: no trade value

A league executive responded to a story in Saturday's Newsday that said NBA executives don't believe Stephon Marbury has trade value, even with his expiring contract. "He has value, but it is limited," the executive said. "Could you convince somebody to suffer through a year of paying 'Starbury' in order to have financial freedom? The problem for the Knicks is that they wouldn't want to take on players that would be on the books in 2010."

    Flip Saunders is done

The Detroit Pistons announced on Tuesday that Flip Saunders will not return as the Pistons head coach next season, according to a Yahoo.com report.

Saunders, 53, had one year remaining on the four-year contract he signed with Detroit in June 2005.

But Pistons' President Joe Dumars decided it was time to cut ties with Saunders, who posted a 176-70 regular-season record in his three seasons with Detroit.

---Syaro... Hawks should swoop in and offer him a deal.

Would Bulls trade No.1 pick for Wade?

Dwyane Wade says he keeps hearing his name mentioned in trade rumors involving the Bulls and Miami Heat. Would the Bulls give up the No. 1 draft position to the Heat in exchange for Wade and the No. 2 overall selection? Or some combination of other players and picks?

"I have heard my name being talked about, and I can't worry about it," Wade said Monday at the Attack Athletics training facility on the West Side. "There is one thing in this league that you have no control over. If another organization wants you, then you should feel good to be wanted."

Wade grew up idolizing Michael Jordan while starring at Richards High School and then Marquette.

"I have a lot of history with the Bulls," Wade said. "And for them to come out with the first pick like that (with a 1.7 percent lottery chance) ... it was fitting that they would do something like that. Nobody thought that would happen. To be in that position and sit back and listen to anything and go back to a team and say: 'How about this? and 'How about that?' ... If [the Bulls] don't make any big moves like that, they're still going to have a great player."

Memphis guard Derrick Rose and Kansas State forward Michael Beasley are expected to go 1-2 in the draft.

    ----------------------------

D.Wade + No.2 Pick = No.1 Pick?... luoya pod ni Wade..hahaha pwede pod No.1 Pick + Ben Gordon para dili cla mag conflict sa position if ever mobalhin jud c Wade sa Bulls.

  9. #109
Wade for No. 1 pick? You think it's worth it? If the Heat are thinking about rebuilding, they should at least build around Wade (superstar status=tickets). Heat have options in Beasley, Rose or Bayless but they're gonna have to wait 1-2 years for either to mature.

As for the trade idea, Wade countered:

"I have heard my name being talked about, and I can't worry about it," Wade said Monday. "There is one thing in this league that you have no control over. If another organization wants you, then you should feel good to be wanted."

As for the trade idea (Wade for 1st pick+Gordon)
    - Pwde baya unta pero considering na established na si Wade sa Heat, lisud ni na-trade.

Wade is from Chicago...nindot if adto na siya duwa..He could be the next messiah for the bulls! hehehe
