This bill will only be signed by the President once an enrolled copy is sent to Malacaņang. Sending it is the job of the legislative so the Senators should not make an issue on the delayed signing.

Anyways, this bill is a good development for wage earners. In fairness to both Houses of Congress, they expedited the passage of this bill in time with the current events regarding world problems on rapid increase in oil price thus causing rapid inflation.

In the papers today it said that the Lower House is pushing for the Senate version of the bill to allow for it to be sent up to the President for signing. Under this version the Personal Exemption will be Php 50 K regardless of status (if you are married it is higher by P 18K) and every qualified dependent P 25 K each.(higher by 17K)
IE. if you are a family of 5 this allows you (assuming you are at the 32% bracket but that is the highest bracket in the tax table) an ADDITIONAL TAX SHIELD of P 22,080 for the year. Over 365 days that's an increase in take home pay by 60 pesos. Maayo na lang 1 ka kilo ug tunga nga bugas
