I do not know what's the deal with branding bands as "emo". I think the label is kind of misleading. Don't you guys think many songs do have an emotional aspect to it? As the definition for emotion is any strong feeling. So it maybe love, anger, hatred, hopelessnes, sorrow, regret etc.... Ang ako lang nabantayan aning mga "emo rock" kay mostly ilang mga songs are about breakups, being dumped and the like. What about other songs that express the other kinds of emotion? Aren't they considered to be emotional? Take Metallica's Unforgiven, it's an emotional song or perhaps the Chilli Pepper's Under the Bridge. I think they are emotional songs. Or maybe I'm just taking it literally?

I'm no emo fan because most of their lyrics are bordline whining. Not to metion the singer's whiny voice.

Right! emo bands look like fag bands. but really what's happening is they're experiencing what happened to the likes of greenday, blink 182, newfound glory and even bands like incubus or let's cite a band closer to home- slapshock. everybody thought they were the next big thing when they first came out. but the moment their music went mainstream and their names became a constant in every poseur/tambay's mouth, they were rechristened thus: SELL-OUTS. i remember my chemical romance was thought of as "cool" by some elitist punkistas i know when i was still in highscool some 5 or so years ago.[br]Posted on: April 18, 2008, 04:53:24 PM_________________________________________________

and oh i forgot the Pumkins- whats happening to Billy I'm a huge Pumpkins fan (Pumpkin of the yesteryears with James Iha still on guitars). Now I think their songs are more emotional not to mention poetic compared with newer Emo songs. their lyrics are so trite, their tunes so been-there-done-that. contrary to what their genre's branding would suggest it leaves me feeling empty. i can not empathize with the whinging vocals.

Why? ...because daghan mag awat-awat (get-ups) usahay nahimo na fashion ok ra tana if naa mo sa banda for stage performance pero on streets? daily life? pffft... Then ang batasan sa teens karun apektado na tungod ani nga genre. More suicidal. More rebellious At first nindot ni siya, specially kung music lang. But if too much emo. Dili na maayo ang resulta.
