wel i dnt no y pipol wud stil say na lisud ichange...
we hab dis famous saying in engineering... "there's no such thing as a perfect system..."
dat is y we hab d term reverse-engineering...
no mater how makers wud claim dat der gadget is hack prof... der wud alwys b a hole in its system...
and d most basic/initial target to hack any gadget is 2 read d memory contents... jst dump ol d contents and hope dat its not encrypted which is d case most of d time bec if makers wud encryt data before and after reading and writing to d memory dat wud cost dem 2 much processing power and time jst 2 do dat process and wud make d device lag...

now after dumping those data from d memory... sometimes analyzing it is easier dan xpected bec ul jst compare d data writen 2 d memory with d displayed infos u can see from ur phone/s like wat wer talkin here, IMEI...
now we jst change dat specific address in d memory n flash it bak 2 d device and walahhh... EUREKA...!!!

but some wud ask how can u write those data bak f d makers used ROM? wel, dats case2case basis... old generation phones used d common ROM... wel ofkors we knew ol about RAMs and ROMs... but some might not know dat der is a 3rd type of memory which are hybrids... which composed of EEPROM, flash, and NVROM...
now i wont xpound more about those but basically they hab d mix characteristics of RAM and ROM in which u can easily reprogram them... dat is y we seldom see people soldering or replacing memories of any gadget/s unless d makers used d old fashion way...

and in addition 2 dat... ul easily no if makers used a flashable memory type if day wud release firmware updates...
well, fellow engrs can agri and/or rebut my xplaination base on there updated knowledge about embedded systems...
    this is jst my POV...
    i thnk u... hehe...

@markyap: sir i hope u dnt mind me askin alot of Qs... im jst curious...
    1. wer do u get ur RnD tools?
    2. r day SDKs? or jst automated applications for customization?
    3. r those tools came from nokia?
    4. how did u get those tools?
    5. wud u be kind enuf 2 share ur tools wit us sir?
    6. can i ask if ur a developer? for nokia? if so in wat field? firmware?

Nokia is not stupid that they spent millions just to protect their system and let somebody crack it. Of course there is a possibility that it can be breached, reversed, cracked, but then who? when?

    Those who can are those:

    - have deep knowledge in encrypting/decrypting,
    - have deep knowledge in hardware cracking,
    - have enough money to spend those expensive and sophisticated instruments

    Now we are OT:

    Back to the topic!

    UP!
