Thread: Taoism

    Default Taoism

Taoist thought focuses on wu wei ("non-action"), spontaneity, humanism, and emptiness. An emphasis is placed on the link between people and nature.

Taoist propriety and ethics emphasize the Three Jewels of the Tao; namely, compassion, moderation, and humility. Taoists believe order comes from strict rules and harsh punishments. Taoism teaches that this link lessens the need for rules and order, and leads one to a better understanding of the world.

are there many whose religion is Taoism here in Cebu?

i think there are a few in cebu, bcoz there are taoist temples in Cebu..

Tao literally means "path" or "way"(and also means "say" or "be said"), and can figuratively mean "essential nature", "destiny" "principle" or "true path". The philosophical and religious "Tao" is infinite, without limitation.

Is it possible to have two or dual religion? i still like my current religion as Catholic but I'm interested and I still admire the teachings of Taoism. I'd like to learn more about the teachings of Taoism. If there is someone who can lead me and show me the way of the Taoist i would gladly appreciate it.

    Meaning and Purpose
"Heartfelt goals and desires give meaning and purpose to your daily life. Without clearly defined goals, there is no process, and, with no process, there is no learning, growing, developing and evolving. Yet, if you fail to stay in charge of your goals, they can sometimes do more harm than good."
