DNA code has all the information that directs how cell functions, including when to divide.

Before mistosis begins, an exact copy of each chromosome is made, producing a pair. During mitosis, the identical chromosomes pf each pair separate, resulting in two cells that are indentical to the original chromosomes. The sets pull apart. Then the cell membrane pinches in the middle, forming two new cells. Each cell is just its parent cell. Have you ever skinned your elbow or knee? almost immediately, cells in the area started mitosis. New skin cells formed to replace the lost tissue. Soon the scrape disappeared, and you skin was smooth and complete again. The process is called regeneration.

In humans, regeneration is limited to healing wounds. But in some animals, regenration can replace entie body parts. For example, if a sea star loses an arm, nearby cells undergo rapid mitosis. Soon the the sea star has a new arm. You know that many organisms have only one cell. when the cell divides, the whole organism reproduces. This process is called asexual reproduction because there is no joining of cells from a different parents. For example, yeast is a single-celled fungus that reproduces when tiny bud forms on a parent cell. Mitosis takes place in the cell, and a copy of the chormosomes is passed into the growing bud. When the bud is fully grown, it breaks off and begins living on its own.

Fast forward, animals then humans appear. Multicellular organisms reproduce by joining of cells from two different individuals. Now science called that sexual reproduction. Cells from each parent join, forming a fertilized egg, or zygote. This starts the process of evolutionary stages for animals, humans and other living organisms. Take note that the process takes a very very very long time.

Just my two cents...EVOLUTION IS NOT SCIENTIFIC at all.. it is not proven. until now EVOLUTION IS JUST A THEORY.
