@tikboy: im not too sure about the gtx in a shuttle, my advice to you is find out if it has been done before with the sx38p2 and check the temps. the shuttle is a good case but its not ideal for big power hungry hot running cards like the gtx. i think it has been done in a shuttle, but it involved changing the power supply and modding the case itself (it wasnt an SX38P2 though).

Changing coolers is very easy and there isnt a single risk of damage i can possibly thing of if you just read the papers that came with the cooler.
now isnt it just so much better for everyone when we all act polite? thanks for the info but as i have already stated in a previous post, i am not sure if the duo-orb will fit. in any case, my 8800gt stopped working- random crashing and wierd dot patterns in games, didnt seem to be heat related as temps never went above 75. i cant wait for the 2-3 weeks it will take for a step up so i just did an rma, im expecting a new one in 3-4 days. hopefully it will come with the bigger fan and lower my temps somewhat.

May I know where u got that info about damage setting in at 80c. m not demanding proof or anything.. just want to know for personal knowledge cos If that's true I'd better find a way to cool this thing... Thanks!
And your ambient temp is around 13~15c i guess ?

Only from forum information. nvidia white papers indicate the chip can run upto 105c but the components NEAR the chip cant handle past 80c, but to be on the safe side the cooler the better.

Sorry must have misread that the DuOrb fits on your system. Using the stock cooler is your only option then it isnt that loud actually as ive tried using the stock cooler for 5 days and i had it at 65% speed.
