what i usually on actors is tell them their actions rather what they should feel, pero sometimes dili gyud mahimo sa ubang mga actors nako na nag-apil apil lang. So my last option is to let them dance on fire until they could turn into dried gas.

Tell me where it hurts oh baby...

guys, i dont knw. When we do films these are the steps that i usually ...

... first i turn that idea into a screenplay(english) and then i re-edit and translate it into bisaya(i really am not good at Oyamot oyamot stuff) her name is Raffy. after that I do storyboarding, Ralfboarding (my term, its another drawing re-arranging the storyboard into sequences of shots based on d sked.) then i gather my indie friends.. do underground casting in my room( hehe) well, somewher and then do meetings.. LOTS and LOTS of prep... sleepless nights (accompanied by Conan and Midnight Hot)
.... during the shoot i am usually, well, always the director and gave trust to my DP.. then we take coverages, mmaster , etc. NOW HE S GONE (wahhh) i am now using Sony TRV265 since my SToPid seLfisH sisTer wnT let me BoRrOw her 100a! (we usually do foley, ambience and dubb ^^) then "I" feed them and walk home... i have my own editor to do the thing .. he's also good but lazy.. usually i ask more than 5 dailies/rush he keeps on complaining heheh. on lighting, i usually bounce the sunlght cause i really do a lot on location... here's something weird in my IFM - i never shoot without my 1AD - my voice, cooko clock and set up slave and my 2AD
moves extras and PM stuff he usually becomes a PA frm time to time w/out noticing.. (god im so evil) ^^ I hpe im not OT on this thread...
i dnt usually tamper on sound, editing and camera stuff ( i got few knowledge but not that kapish!) coz i usually give more of my time to the actors and (*in tears) my expenses and am, im doing 2 courses and 3 orgs at once (megalomaniac)... i really am interested on this AUDIO Mixing stuff and Foley foley orevowa stuff...
    i usually tamper d "internet"

HERE's a good SUGgestion: IF u have actors and extras always and ALWAYS let them sign the ACTORS AGREEMENT FORM.. in case, yah filmmakers are risky but not that careless..

Yes, I did consider studying in IAFT, as well as Mowelfund & APFI (but never got the chance to do so.)

I'm very enthusiastic about formal schooling coz I believe that when the student is ready the teacher will be there. Be it a book, a person or an online article/forum.

Did anyone here join any workshop last summer? What, where and how long was the program? Any comments? Please share.

    Best Regards...

    @Vanceloma
An Actor's Agreement Form, in essence, is a contract that states that the actor is giving you the right to use the audio/video footage that you will/have taken of him for an agreed material whether he gets paid or not.

If you don't have this form yet, just check with google and you'll get lots of link.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards...

thanks, angryliar. but where to begin? i am just an ordinary movie fan who loves to watch films and dreams of someday sharing my hopes and visions for this present generation through my obras like Akira Kurosawa's Dreams.

ON LIGHTING: Don't limit it to just using bounce just because you're on location. Add cutters, silks, nets and cookies to your arsenal. Experiment and you will see the difference.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards...
