^^ That is very shallow understanding of the perquisites of the President. Whether you like it or not, the President, whoever it is, has these perks such as paid expenses which is shouldered by the government. The "office" vests this perquisites in the Chief Executive.

On the other hand, members of the diplomatic corps are also privileged to have some freebies which is vested by the office they hold. You cannot prevent an official from using such benefits and privileges.

The only thing we could get from here is the altruistic feeling that our country interacts with other nations in the world. You cannot do away with that because international comity requires going to other countries to create relations and ties.

The Congressmen who came either spent their own money or they have official business with their counterparts in Europe. If their colleagues think bad about them, they better blame Villar and De Venecia for giving clearance to travel to the solons.

    Altruistic feelings huh?

After the extremely scandalous bribe-giving in the Palace, nobody can expect these people and their patroness, to have some sense of propriety, some degree of sensitivity to public opinion.

They are brazen. Like their beloved Doña, who would spend taxpayer money to fund her curtsies before royalty, these so-called representatives of the people are beyond shame. This is the kind of government that we have to suffer until June 30, 2010, and likely, beyond that date.

In the critical days following the revelation of the Hello Garci conversations in 2005, when some of her cabinet members tried to persuade their President to think seriously about giving up power, she was reported to have replied, in manner both arrogant and cool – "I am beyond shame."

    GMA's "official" trip.

Not only 37 lawmakers joined President Arroyo in her trip to Spain, but also the whole Arroyo family, 11 in all, including four grandchildren.

congratulations again to Gloria Arroyo and her family for bringing their brazeness to a higher notch.
