murag depende ra man cguro na sa sitwasyon bro...

yes, importante kau ang diploma but it is just a tool in the harsh world of job employment. if u know how to harness it well, then good 4 u.

i have classmeyts who r top of our class and now working well in procter & gamble, san miguel, petron, and abroad. i also have classmeyts nga academic performers but didnt do well in the "real" life. Dats y good academics is not the only 1 to ensure a good future but how well you carry urself.

I also have a classmeyt b4 nga very bugoy kau (kauban ra mi..hehe), but is now a top ranking boss in one of the Mepz firms. Also i hv a neighboor dat didnt even finish college, pwerteng bugoya, adis-adis, sigeg ngita rambol sauna but in a twist of fate, he's now the "right hand" of the owner of one of the call centers here.

I also hv friends & acquaintances nga mga negosyante nga ila negosyo wa jud mo-fit sa ila gi-eskwelahan. but thinking it over, nagamit ra man pud diay in some other ways...like mr. jack gaisano is a chemical engineer but nagamit ra ang iyang engineering discipline, engineering management, and other math & sciences in running the affairs of his mall business...another friend is also working as loans officer in a bank for a long time (also a licensed engineer) but somehow gamit jud kno kau niya ang statistics, calculus, and algebra...

One thing is common to them: Academically below average but very "STREETSMART". if moreso if u r academically excellent mixed w/ some streetsmart sense, then d only way to go is up...

yup, dats because of the nature of the call center business itself...trickles down to the working environ...wide kau ang uncertainty (affects the feeling of job security)...cause and effect to the workplace...and dats a fact in any call center industry even in India...it is also a fact that every working person has their own level of tolerance to stress, job satisfaction, and personal biases to a certain workplace environ...dat is how we invented the words "manager", "supervisor", "job-matching", grievances committee, occupational therapist, etc...

same story with the med reps, sales reps...

not unlike in gov't, banking, or other firms dat makes u feel more secure sa imo tenure...

ako bay, i worked in an exporting firm way long back and the managerial job ws also making me feel insecure about the tenure. Below ave pa jud ang rate and we hv to work overtym w/o pay...we also have lots of contractuals, subcons...but that is the nature of the export business here...seasonal kau...we can never tell if we could even close shop in an instant...

    OT @ GIDDYBOY .....

Mao lang na ang akong na observe because I can vouch for nobody else except the people I knew personally , by acquaintance and testimonies . It is indeed FATE kung mo tuo mo . Too sad coming from an institution that caters and produces the top technical students in Cebu if not in the Philippines pero wala magamit instead it an individual success ang nahitabo .... iyahay ug DISKARTE without the need and use of the so called DIPLOMA . Tuod its an advantage to have one ( diploma ) but its not advisable to wait for that advantage kay pasmo ra ang kontra . Havent you notice of such personalities na PROFESSIONALS pero UNEPLOYED unya mga panablahay kaayo but are earning a 6 figure income in a month ?

Regarding sa CALLCENTER ... it is a very applicable and advantage job if not all of the agents , most of the agents . All you need is to COMMUNICATE CONSISTENTLY and EFFIECIANTLY which is needed in the real world while encompassing stressful situations , overcoming micromanagement , and learning to value teamwork . Good for the CALL CENTERS , they accept undergrads !!

I think nobody can last working in call centers. People working for five years in call centers should receive the highest loyalty award. ehhe.

IMO lang: i take this type of job as meanial ! in other words while wala pata katrabaho in line with our chosen profession, work sa ta call center kay dako kaayo ug pay..skyrocketing jud. mangwarta lang sa ta.

my sis is working in e-telecare for 3 years already i think. she's very well paid, got her bank account fatter and fatter! Yet she still considers working in other companies more so with working abroad! The Catch ?? Money is not everything you need!

sacrificing in for 4 to 5 years in college... after graduation you just end up taking in/out calls... tsk tsk tsk...
worst... you'r supervisor is an undergrad... but anyway.. its a decent job still...

I'm just wondering... is it money or competitiveness?

most friends I know who can't apply for the job of their areas end up in a call center.. because they know basic English...
and program manuals are there to help you out for the policy...
