right now i have an intel rig but im planing. shift to AMD just waiting for the new AMD.. hehehe i just hope id be able to allocate plenty of budget for my new rig heheh

dnt knw about that, i mean thats losing $2000 worth of hardware(at least cuz that has workstation-like specs) and earning $50 per game. basig barato ra gyud ang hardware. i think Intel & AMD is screwing us around.

ok, so Specs for Specs. Xbox360 & PS3 has more power & much cheaper than Alienware, Falcon, KAOS, Voodoo?

OT: @archille, darwking is correct. This sales & marketing strategy is not new. Unit is the least of their problems. May'g pila ra mo palit anang unit. But ang existing owners will ALWAYS buy games & accessories. Ang ang mo palit ka ug $400-$600 console just so it can be a decoration under your TV set! Duh! Think of it as delayed gratification. You lose now but win later. Another group of companies that comes to mind using this approach are Printer companies. HP and others actually lose on their printers. It's only until you keep buying their cartridges that they earn money. That's why they're always pushing against refilling stations coz that's practically a 100% loss on their profits! For consoles, imagine lang if you buy pirated games for your consoles. That's yet another 100% profit loss for Sony or MS. If that keeps up xbox360 and ps3 may very well be the last console they sell before they close down. So you guys think about that when you buy your pirated games.

oo..turn sa intel..intel conroe users hinuon..for those stuck on their sucky P4s and celerons and pentium Ds....AMD still owns them big time..

AFAIK the 6600 core2duo is only $300+ so its within the range of a mid X2..and the performance is much better..for me though, id still stick with AMD for now..since conroe means upgrading my mobo and ram.while the anticipated price drop for amd come july 23 will mean a sub 10k X2 3800 for me..

re: AMD heating up a lot faster..that was the case with the socket A athlons..my s939 venice 3000 is oced to 2250 and default voltages but the temps are still ok (39c idle and 51c load) in fact..intels prescotts (or PRESCHOT to some) is even warmer. my office P4 2.4 Ghz prescHOT idles at 44 at an airconditioned room..im not able to push it to 100% CPU usage though as i only use it for CAD and winamp.hehe
