4th place goes to, particle board. Particle board is basically made of waste wood material binded together. They are good for furniture but it fails when it is exposed to moisture.

3rd place goes to Gypsum board. I like this board though for its sound-proofing quality & termites don't eat this. The only sad thing about this product is that it withers when it is exposed to moisture.

2nd place goes to plywood. There are many types in other countries but in the Philippines, we have ordinary plywood & marine plywood. Marine plywood is good since it can survive moisture but expensive. Plywood is good when your dealing with aesthetics like the look of varnish, woodstain & it can be bended. This is mostly used in doors nowadays & in high end cabinetries (laminated marine plywood). The disadvantage of plywood is it can be eaten by termites. It is needs a lot of preparatory work prior to painting since the surface isn't flat.

1st place or the winner: Fiber cement board commonly known to us as Hardiflex manufactured by the company James Hardie. It's very versatile. You can use it in flooring, sidings, ceilings, fascia, eaves, interior walls, substrates & even Toilet & Bath walls. It's easy to install though it needs an expert (joints must be addressed properly or it cracks), easy to paint, waterproof, termite-proof & fire-resistant. I usually specify this for my projects as an Architect. One tip: if budget is tight, there's this product called Hardiflex Lite. It's 3.5mm only, very thin & you may use it on areas where it is not susceptible to moisture like the living room ceiling.
Thank you! Naka decide ko na i-plywood nalang nako na 3/16 pero double walling. But because of your comment, I'm confused again. Hahaha! Do you have any idea how much is the Hardiflex Lite 3.5mm? Or any estimated budget lang for two bedrooms using Hardiflex Lite? Also, does it really need a metal framing or pwede ra wood?

Ako naman gipa check sa panday akong balay and iya nako gitagaan sa list of materials to use and akong gi calculate, around 7-8k akong magasto for plywood 3/16 ordinary nya coco lumber na 2x2 for framing (double walling nako).

Sorry, I don't have the current price of the Hardiflex lite.

It's ok to use 2"x2" coco lumber with 3/16" plywood. The only problem we have with this is that the wall has a high probabality that it will be crooked, it's very hard to find coco lumber these days that are straight. You'll not see it first but once it is painted, then the problem is very visible since paint reflects light & any imperfections would be highly visible. I would still go for metal furring for the frames & fiber cement board for the cover. The difference is bearable in terms of price. It would be worth the investment thinking it will survive for a lifetime compared to wood. Thanks.

Mao ni siya TS ang estimated prices probably duol2x na. If I were you i'd rather choose hardiflex. Yes dali ra ma buslot if nipis imo gamiton and kung dili sad standard ang framing sa imo panday, but it will long last jud if tarong pagka taud.

I also found a site where are the best stud finders https://electricstudfinder.com/ I need to know which to choose and if there will be problems along the way.Thank you in advance.

Shouldn't you determine the condition of the walls before starting the renovation? It would be highly frustrating if deep problems surfaced after the renovation was completed. I can tell you from my own example. I have had issues with the gutter quite often. It was already starting to take its toll on the roof. I changed the drain several times for a new one, but it didn't help. I would've continued to suffer like this if I hadn't been told that the problem was due to an improperly designed roof. So now I have to have the top redesigned a bit.
