The wood used is treated right. Wood absorbs moisture and moisture is one of electronic parts enemy. If you want it wood, a laminated one would be a good choice. Also consider the chemicals used for treatment.

Enclosure. Wooden spaces with warm environment is where some roden's and insects like to hang out. You just want your wooden casing for your PC and not to serve as a nest, right?

Ventilation. Metal conducts heat. Wood absorbs heat. If you have a wooden casing, ensure enough ventilation because your wooden casing wont allow heat dissipation on its body. So blow out those hot air from inside.

Use correct insulation. Remember in the very first place why they use metal and not wood. Its because of safety. Internal heat build up due to exhaust fan malfunction. Just one spark is needed to possibly turn your wooden casing into a beautiful bonfire. I dont think you would like it especially during summer. Hot!!!

I think this wont be a problem to you because as what you have said, you are a furniture designer. Give your wooden casing a magic touch. Take some picture and let us see.

I might be one of your customer someday.

yep.. kabalo nako sa behavior sa wood kay furniture manufacturing student ko.. from wood to indigenous materials.. hehehe

naka KD nana daan ang wood bro.. ala na kaayo mo paak na termites ana.. hehe and treated well nana.. and moisture content yep.. absorbs.. wood is like a sponge right. kaya ang moisture content sa wood na akong paliton is about 8-12% kay ang atong humidity nato is about 12-14% for local.. g lang bro.. heheh kaya ra ni..

I'm thinking wild right now.. its for my project feasibility.. pero lamat sa tanan advices.. hehehe and bro ambot lang kng feasible ni nga project hehehe support me on this!! nyahahah

Not bad! Just some things I would like to point out.

I see your PSU is wide open at the back except for the power cord terminal and the switch. How about a mesh wire to close it.

What are your front fans, 12V or 220V? Maybe you could consider the ratio of intake and exhaust. I guess you have already visualized the air current path inside. If you are going to ask me, I'll use two 220V intake in front and also two 220V exhaust at the upper back. Noise? Your case is more like of a subwoofer box. To eliminate noise from inside, add some dampers.

My mind is way far thinking a lot of things. The $1M question now is, if somebody would ask you for a custom build wood case, how much would its estimate cost?
