about computer casing

guys ask lang ko.. I'm a furniture designer and also a computer geek. ask lang ko if pwede ba ang gamiton nako na casing is made out of wood?? I know they use steel bec. sa ground niya.. but is it possible gamit ko wood?? pls advice.. ug sa tanan na ga costumize ug pc casing pls advice.. thanks

yep kita ko. but ang ako lang.. dili ba xa dali ma daot ang hardware.. tungod lagi sa ground.. basin dali ra nya ma daot akong hardwares..

ok ra man wood bro...less electrostatic gani. some open work benches are on wood man or on acrylic. though temps & durability might not be that favorable.

wood is no problem IF...

The wood used is treated right. Wood absorbs moisture and moisture is one of electronic parts enemy. If you want it wood, a laminated one would be a good choice. Also consider the chemicals used for treatment.

Enclosure. Wooden spaces with warm environment is where some roden's and insects like to hang out. You just want your wooden casing for your PC and not to serve as a nest, right?

Ventilation. Metal conducts heat. Wood absorbs heat. If you have a wooden casing, ensure enough ventilation because your wooden casing wont allow heat dissipation on its body. So blow out those hot air from inside.

Use correct insulation. Remember in the very first place why they use metal and not wood. Its because of safety. Internal heat build up due to exhaust fan malfunction. Just one spark is needed to possibly turn your wooden casing into a beautiful bonfire. I dont think you would like it especially during summer. Hot!!!

I think this wont be a problem to you because as what you have said, you are a furniture designer. Give your wooden casing a magic touch. Take some picture and let us see.

hehe, kontra nimo ani bro kay ang mga termites and some other bugs. Pwede pud magbutang ka tingali og steel plating sa sulod para motabang sa grounding.

pwede na man wala steel plating for grounding ani kay naa ko mobo na way casing gipatong lang og libro andar man. for the termites, wa ni problem if treated wood iya gamiton. pwede pud way treatment, katong tugas lang kay sigurado na pangag ang termites ato. amo haligi sa balay kay tugas 1942 pa gitukod nagtindog pa hantud ron. gi try namo gabas ang haligi ka naa ta mi itaud pero di madutlan. hehehehe...
