for me, all are the same..., they only differ on package management..., and apps they use BUT some are interchangeable!
as for community..., dili ko mag base sa usa ka specific distro when it comes to finding solutions..., lets say since ming compare man kag Cent ug Ubuntu...., what I do is "if" you have Ubuntu based issues..., you look for any 'debian' based distros kai same rana sila ug fix or gamay ra ligas sa ila command line if ever... if Cent man gali sab, then you look for RHEL based ones sab ^_^
If you want, you can see the linux tree here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...n_Timeline.svg
as you can see from that ^_^, there are 3 main/parent distro's, One is Debian, one is Red Hat, and the other one is Slackware.
Sadly..., wala ko linux karon, but if ever I use one again, dili ko ana regular distro kai sayonan rako then bloated nasab sila
, hinay2x na sila becoming Windoze in some aspects
ako choices are:
- gentoo/funtoo: if ever na-a ko time and have a 'decent' computer to compile it from scratch!!!
- tinycore: if ever man gali no time ug da-an ang ako hardware.
so in short..., kana gyud sakit sa ulo ako ganahan ^_^, slackware -> LFS (linux from scratch) -> gentoo/funtoo and/or tinycore.
