Who is the best doctor for ENT here in Cebu?

Just want to share my recent experience with Dr. Amparado of CVGH. I had otitis externa and he gave me oral antibiotics and painkillers. After completing the treatment I still have pain in the ears!!

I decided whether to go back to him or look for a second opinion. Of course I did not return to him... I tried to look for other ENTs and landed to CDUH with Dr. Segura.

It seemed that Amparado had misdiagnosed my condition. Imagine I spent 1k worth of meds and did not heal even. Now I have to take another set of meds and will have aural irrigation.

It feels so bad that a common disease gets misdiagnosed much more with wrong therapy and prolonged agony of the patient. I used to have my ENTs from Manila that’s why it’s my first time to have this experience of misdiagnosis here at Cebu.

If I won’t get treated with Segura I’ll let you know and look for other ENTs mentioned here.

Segura is at CDUH Borromeo Bldg, consultation is 500 and other procedures can have additional payment. He also has otic drops you can buy. Maybe prepare 1500-2k for consultation + medicines.

Sharing my experience with Dr. Espina sa CDUH.

Okay siya nga doctor pero feel naku dli siya approachable and one question, one answer siya nga type nga pagkadoctor, a little bit strict ug aura. Then, in regards sa akong problem sa throat and ears kay remedy ra iyang nahatag sa akoa kay nibalik ra after a week ang kasakit sa tutunlan and ears (note: dili siya pharyngitis nor tonsillitis kay luas raman siya sa location in between sa tonsil and frontal part sa tounge nga dool sa joint something nga connected sa ear maong mosakit siya). Spray and painkiller rag gihatag sa akoa and I wasted 1k sa meds and check up (though I have insurance naa may copay and nibayad sad ko 100 sa med cert kay absent ko anang adlawa).

Sharing my experience to Dr. Gary Rivera's Clinic.

Since nibalik man akong nafeel last week sa akong tutunlan and ears, nibalik ko pacheck up ug ENT.

Willing na unta ko mobayad ug any PF ang importante maayo lang ko. Pero dugay man niabli ang clinic nila, wala poy nakapaskil sa schedule ni doc. Sayangan ko kay I know nindot siya nga doctor base diri nga thread. Di pud macontact iyang mga secretary using cudh infos sa website.

Sharing my experience to Dr. Cruz sa Chong Hua sa iyang secretary.

Before that night, since ga overthink naman gud ko kay nganung nibalik ang sakit sa ears and throat. Nangita kog way makakita ug contact number ni dr rivera or dr cruz. I found out an active number sa secretary ni dr cruz diri nga thread.

Nitawag ko around 8pm and ni ring then gitubag. Nashock lng ko kay maldita kaayog tingog and iyang convo kay "Sir gabie na kaayo oy unsa imong tuyo naunsa naman tawn ka sir oy, office hours lng sir" and pinabusdak nga tingog. I know sayop ko kay nitawag ko around 8pm pero pwede ra bya ni icancel ang tawag and moreply lang siya nga office hours lang ang inquiry for dr crux or if gtubag niya kay balibaran nalang unta niya in a nice way or iya kong iinform nga sa office hrs lang mo inquire. Customer unta bya ko and gi handle unta ko niya in a nice way.

After ato wan a ko nitawag the next day or wa nalang sad ko niadto kay disappointing. I know i have lapses pero nangayo sad ko sorry for disturbing niya.

With my experiences kay nibalik nalang kog cduh and nangayo ug loa sa akong insurance and found out apil si Dr. Segura which is wala ko na inform nga apil siya sa among insurance kay if kahibaw ko deretso nalang unta ko niya.

Nindot siya nga doctor, answer all your questions and iyang e elaborate nganung sakit akong tutunlan and ears. Para naku knowledeagble siya and approachable. Mas importante man gud sa akoa nga pasabton kos doctor nganung ni exist na siya and unsay cause and unsay effect sa akoa plus bootan pa siya and satisfied ko sa iyang procedure sa pagcheck sa akong throat unlike kang Dr. Espina kay dinalian.

Akoa ra jung macomment nga bati kay sa iyang secretary nga magdawat sa payment and maghatag sa official med cert kay nagkalalis mi tungod sa akong insurance kay dili daw sila modawat nganung OR# ang gbutang nga supposedly mobayad kog copay. Ako gi explainan iyang secretary sa info nga ghatag sa loa issuer naku nga once two check ups in one day kay one copay ra akong bayad for that day. Nasettle ra hinoon kay ako man gpadool ang loa issuer sa ilang clinic and na okay ra pud siya. Para naku pwede ra bya moingon siya nga "dong pwede ipa verify lang ni nimo balik sa ilaha kay wala ko kasabot". Hehe

Sa katong receptionist/helper nila nga mag eyeglasses kay bootan kaayo si ate.

Si Simplicio Guinocor sa VCMC kay nindot pud. Nawala akong pharyngitis sa tambal nga iyang giresita way back 2015/16.

I have recurrent tonsilitis. I was honest about this the first time I had consultation with Dr. Rivera 3-5 years ago maybe. He immediately suggested me to undergo tonsillectomy which I understood his point because of his thorough explanation plus I was a medical student the time I consulted in his clinic so I can easily digest the information he was giving me. Since I was still a student, I have to open up to my mother the suggestion of the specialist but she’s the only one working for us and couldn’t afford the expenses of the surgery. I just started working recently and although my consultation with Dr. Rivera was years way back, I still wanted to undergo tonsillectomy because my tonsilits is seriously recurrent. It’s so hard to explain and convince family members who doesn’t have medical backgrounds. Although I have insurance now, Dr. Rivera is not in network with what I have. I’m confused if who among the in network providers am I going to consider for tonsillectomy. And it doesn’t feel comforting at all picking random ENTs and tell them go ahead and remove my tonsils. I had a good relationship with Dr. Rivera and undergoing surgeries, it has to be the Doctor you really trust.
