Forget everything but your wallet and phone.

strange indeed but there could be other possible scenarios... the driver of the car may not be the owner of the wallet. a pickpocket on the run chased by other people could have thrown it when nearly cornered and wallet landed on top of the car without the driver's knowledge. a motorbike driver with sharp eyes saw it and took it away during a traffic stop. so many possible scenarios i can think of...
