Asus RT-N18U with a Tomato by Shibby firmware, can this be used as a range extender?

I have installed a Tomato by Shibby on my Asus RT-N18U. This Asus router can be used as a range extender according to its manual. I intend to buy a new router with a wireless AC, and want to use the Asus RT-N18U as a range extender. Should I revert back the original firmware of Asus on my router or is there a setting in the firmware of Tomato by Shibby that allows me to use the router as a range extender? Sorry noob here... Tried to look for answers in the net but could not find one.... thanks

Did you searched/browsed all the settings on your tomato flashed Router?, Usually, it should be supported but that depends on the firmware you got to that router of yours.

I did browse but I do not know where specifically to look and what settings to change
