im just respecting yung distro para hindi mapahiya...kahit na maling mali sila (biro mo, may nakita daw na 'corrosion' eh pinadala ko wala naman

even if merong corrosion, its not your fault, unlesss sadyang nilublod mo ito sa tubig or baha. in any case kung corrosion sa contacts it should be the hardware problem, electrical contacts are suppose to be protected against that.

agree with werty, gold gani ang gigamit kay inert metal mani siya - dili affected ta sa corrosion. unless na scrape off ang gold during installation but did not see that in the pic.

@TS, asa man daw dapita ang corrosion gyud?

ug sa mga karaan diri, maka-void diay sa warranty ang potential corrosion? how does normal people know nga with latent failure nana ilang gipalit nga electronics under normal usage?

Good pm, ito po yung exact na sinabi nung taga distro:

'potential corrosion, due the greenish
elements at the SLI contact, golden finger, were still fresh. but can
be removed by cleaning'

corrosion daw sa SLI contact eh bago ko talaga pinadala walang signs of corrosion kundi sinabi ko, sayang lang ang pangbayad ng Shipping kung hindi ko sabihin lahat ng problema.

here's a references about corrosion on Au-Sn plated interconnect... sa case ni TS, atmospheric condition ra man ni... wla gani magamit siguro ang SLI contacts kay wla mag 2-way or more SLI config si TS... so, wala'y mechanical wear and tear ang wla man ni magamit ang SLI contact fingers...

are you sure "disto" yang kausap mo? or just a regular computer shop. in anycase, tell them you have pictures of the card with date before you send item to them, BUT DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. in anycase whose fault is it if mag corrode man sli contacts? na dili man constantly man-handled nimo ang card naa raman na sulod sa pc-ipa finger print scan aron mahibaw-an kinsa mga nikupot ana na card and kisang tudlo ang pinaka duol sa corrosion? ka wierd na ba sa mga tindahan ron, likay naman ug warranty.
