Default How much impact does an additional SSD make on laptop power consumption?

Need advice please. I've searched this and most of the topics I get are HDD vs SSD power consumption.

What I would like to know is will adding 1more SSD to a laptop with 1 HDD significantly affect battery
    consumption?

    Bought a new laptop: HP Envy 17.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive Silver M7-u009dx - Best Buy

    It's got pretty decent specs:
    core i7
    nvidia 940 2gb
    16gb ram
full hd 17.3" IPS touch screen
    backlit keyboard

The only thing I don't like about it is that it only has a regular HDD at 1tb

I'm definitely going to buy an SSD for this one and I have 3 options.
    1) buy ssd + bracket + sata connector (since this unit has one vacant slot)
    2) buy caddy for ssd and replace the optical drive (since I'm not using it)
    3) buy ssd and replace the hdd inside

I'm having second thoughts though because this will surely cause my warranty
to be voided and it's risky having a new laptop opened.

disadvantage of replacing the hdd with an ssd is that I will lose my storage size (i can only afford 256gb ssd)
disadvantage of hdd + ssd is that I don't know how much it will impact my battery usage.

    Please give advice. Thanks.

Boss in my opinion I'll go for (3) buy ssd and replace the hdd inside) and better upgrade and replace your 1TB traditional HDD to an SSD at least 256 GB than adding it with your 1TB kay for sure it will add up and will affect on the battery consumption. But its all up to you if naa pay room to add extra HDD on your laptop go ahead and add it.

I don't think adding expansion to your laptop such as RAM/HDD will void the warranty. The best way is to bring the add on parts at the service center and let them do that instead for sure.

sa U.S. mangud pod ni napalit so dili nako maka pata-od sa ako gipalitan. So murag mugawas pod nga useless na ang warranty no? kay if ever, lisod manpod ni mabalik didto sa U.S. gi handcarry raman ni pagdala diri. Yup, murag duda judko nga dako impact sa battery if naa hdd and naapod ssd. I'm leaning towards replacing the hdd with ssd for battery purposes.

wala cya m.sata or m.2 slot bro. pero naa cya extra slot for a regular ssd or hdd which i was planning to use so I can have the speed of the ssd and storage size of the hdd. pero what's holding me back is the impact on the battery which cud be bad if i have both an hdd and ssd at the same time. right now i'm leaning sa replace hdd with ssd and use the hdd as external drive. but if someone can tell me nga dili dako ang impact sa battery anang hdd+ssd i might change my mind.

di bya ko sure bro. if naa global warranty, that would be good. Kani pod cya nga unit kay I would need to have
a technician open this kay tibu-ok back part of the laptop needs to be removed. Unlike my old laptop before
nga naay small doors for the ram and hdd which makes it easy, kani nga laptop ron nako nga new, the whole
back part needs to be removed. Although naay tutorials sa youtube, dili ko confident mubuhat on my own.

Since mag palit man jud ka og ssd. Try nalang using it together with ur HDD since naA ra man kaha siya extra slot. Decide Lng Later kung ma feEL jud nimo ang impact and remove the HHD Later on.

    3. buy ssd and replace the hdd inside and use the hdd as an extra storage for data (naa may HHD external case). ang ssd nindot gyud kaau pang OS kay pas2 tanan loading time sa imong laptop ex. Start-up,loading of webpage ,cache etc. but mas maau gyud ma expire na imong warranty (if naa) before ka mag enhance sa imong laptop.

Laptop nowadays lahi ug design, compact tanan ang parts niya then tibook ang pag disassemble medyo lisod bitaw unlike sa laptop before nga naay door for RAM, HDD ukbon mao wa ko mo try ug ukab sa akong laptop pud. Naa man way using repair kit pero lisod man pangitaon diri, pwede kanang pvc card gamiton aron di magaras ayaw gamiti ug metal or screw driver.

Try daw to check boss basin duna nay global warranty, search sa ilang website basin diay.
