A DELIVERY truck carrying butane canisters exploded along South Road Properties (SRP) in Talisay City, Cebu, around 6 a.m. Wednesday after colliding with a school bus.
According to Dustin Rojas, the bus was taking a left turn from SRP going to San Isidro Street in Talisay City to drop students at Asian College of Technology in Bulacao, when the truck, coming from Cebu City and going to the south, beat the red light, causing the collision.
"Nipugos og labang bisag caution or stop na," said Rojas.
Two students and the bus driver were injured in the incident.
Rojas said the truck tilted sideways and rolled over a car shop. The truck driver escaped from the scene, while the butane canisters that the truck carried exploded.
Firefighters were able to respond about six to 10 minutes after the collision.
The students were brought to the nearby Talisay District Hospital.
Rojas said the fire also burned a car parked at the car shop, while four other cars were also burned. Firefighters though were able to put out the fire.
