From my point of view, JomaSison is either not having full control of his CPP-NPA , or these CPP-NPA combatants have acknowledged NO leader. They will fght NOT for their cause but for their very own survival (rogue).

Talking or negotiating with Joma Sison is useless as crap. Non-communicating or non-mentioning and ignoring the existence of Joma Sison in any news , social media will be enough to bury this guy's existence, let him feel a slow and painful death.

JOMA SISON IS NOT IN CONTROL ANYMORE, he is good as lost already.

As i expected from Duterte, he will never hold his punches once the drawn lines are crossed, be it friend or foe, not even the religious sect. The President is too damn straightforward..

....... and perhaps thats the reason why people choose him to lead the country.

If you ignore this guy and let him die on his own term. Where or who will the government talk to for peace talks?
Even if these guys have lost control over the their ranks.

Some die-hard members still adheres or follow these guys.
It's a way of dividing and conquering your enemy.

Breakdown the leadership, and let others who don't want to follow, break from their ranks and make their own group.
In either ways it's still a win-win situation for the government.

Ibutang nato ni concede na sa peace agreement to these non-controlling leaders (Joma and Jalandoni), who will the members follow now who still wants or loves rebellion?

The ones who are really in control? who are they? Let them come out, and either they fight and held another peace agreements.

Point taken.... but again, it is already proven that talking to this guy is an absolute waste of time and life ( we lost soldiers didn't we?)

It is better to wait for this rebel groups to speak first for the ceasefire. In the meantime, the only appropriate move for the government forces is to continue its operation against any type of insurgency.

Duterte have endured poisonous criticism for a simple video call with Joma Sison, even Duterte extend his hand for peace, but what he get is ambushed soldiers instead.

We had enough of this back-stabbing rebels of all kind...... any full military operation against such will be much appreciated.
There will always be a rebel in every country regardless of its governance/leadership.

So for now, maghuwat na lang ta sa balita nga dunay gipuhag nga kuta sa nga rebels, so sad indeed, what a waste of life for just being in the other side of ideology.
