MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday publicly named five police officers allegedly involved in illegal drug trade as he continued to press his campaign against drugs, criminality and corruption.
Speaking at the Philippine Air Force's (PAF) celebration of its 69th anniversary at Clark Air Base, Duterte said he ordered the following relieved from their positions:
General Marcelo Garbo,
General Vicente Loot,
General Bernardo Diaz,
General Joel Pagdilao, and
General Edgardo Tinio.

MANILA, Philippines – At least four police generals in active service were seen in the company of men identified with Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Mar Roxas in an Araneta-owned compound in Cubao, Quezon City yesterday.
The four were Director Generoso Cerbo Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) directorate for intelligence, and Chief Supts. Renier Idio, Bernardo Diaz and Ronald Santos.
Idio is the regional director of the Cagayan Valley police, Diaz of the Western Visayas police and Santos is deputy regional director for administration of the Southern Tagalog police.
The generals were seen with retired PNP deputy director general Marcelo Garbo Jr. at the Gourmet Bar of the Novotel located at Araneta Center. They were in civilian clothes.

CLARK, Pampanga—President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday named police officials allegedly involved in illegal-drugs trade.
During his speech at the Philippine Air Force here, Duterte tagged Gen. Marcelo Garbo, Gen. Vicente Loot, Gen. Bernardo Diaz of Region 11, Joel Pagdilao of the NCRPO and Edgardo Tinio of QCPD.
Garbo and Loot are already retired while the three are still on active duty. Loot is incumbent mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu.

The President said these police generals were protector of drug lords.
“I will talk to them but for now I ordered them relieved,” said Duterte. TVJ
