What's with the hate? Well, i used to many years before but it grew up on me eventually by having friends who work in the BPO. Some of them are not worth keeping, some are but you cannot force an ideal into anyone. The only thing that matters to me is their disregard for health but i can't stop them if they wish to die sooner, kana pay libre nako kape inig haya: lol:

Ughhh.. couldn't finish reading the article... basically it's like someone complaining how water can be so wet, or how walking in the sidewalk will get your feet dirty if you're wearing slippers...

It's an immature rant that doesn't deserve the attention it's getting. You can agree with some of the stuff s/he is saying, but to go as far as hate an industry that helped so many others is just... heh.

It's all about how you look at things I guess.. Call Center as a dead end career? Perhaps... but I guess it's how you handle yourself that matters. I've used my cc experience to get into an ESL job and a QA post for a UK based start-up company. Is my career a dead end if I get to save enough money to invest in stocks or open up a business? Yeah? No?

Sorry, didnt choose to check the link. only one thing i can say about the cc industry here.

    - the agents never had a chance to enjoy holidays while their counterparts but not 3rd party do. (with some i know - no idea about the rest)

the good thing is, yes it's a job that pays for needs. =)

id like to add as well that, a company will only ensure they get the minimum requirements needed that complies with DOLE. If there needs to be some changes. it has to start from the govt. rules itself.
    wonder how it's done.hm...

no matter how worse imong kaagi sa imong job, if it's at least a decent job and you're still
earning enough money para mabuhi ka ug mapalit imong needs and you're still able to
get through sa imong daily duty, then it could be somehow a blessing na pud para nimo
kumpara kung imong tan-awn ang uban nga naa diha daplin sa kadalanan nga walay trabaho..
wala kahuman sa pag eskwela.. walay kaugalingong balay nga mapuy-an..

wa q nilahos ug basa sa blog kay title palang daan, ga mention na daan ug 'impyerno'
which is exaggerating ra kaayo paminawn IMO..

kung wa cya ganahi na sa iyang work, pwede raman cya mo resign labi na if tan-aw jud
niya, naa jud cyay skills mismo nga dapat ma recognize, then maau pag sa lain nlng
    na nya nga company e-contribute.

whats with starbucks anyway? why starbucks and not just plain white mug? why do they have to brandish it? (i still see people do this sa IT park everytime i go there, once a week) i personally seen this while working in BPO for quite sometime (short stint as agent then developer)

there is no correct definition of career, but in standards... it is a path of profession that requires specialize training. working for more than 10 years or more on the same company does not mean its already a career...

however i sense a defensive stance on your post, imoha sad na, not cant blame you saying that... dapat siguro para mawala ang stereotype ninyo kamo na mismo mo badlong sa ka-agent ninyo...

I started working in BPO when the industry just started diri sa cebu... when IT park is just the village, when ayala center is the only bldh in cebu business park, when ang pamilite tag Php 2.50 pa//

my brother is a supervisor in one of the BPO, my wife works in a BPO... and my small online busines is a BPO...

Much better than walking down the streets for months, looking for a job, hungry with worn out shoes. If he do have the alternatives then he could inhibit himself undergoing with the demands and requirements of the BPO Industry. If he succeed then he could already make the comparison which is which bestow the best.

I don't mind call center agents... not a big deal to talk or hate about.

Things like these, I always remember cooking a chorizo, bisayang adobo and bacon.

No need to put cooking oil... Mugawas ug maluto rana sa iyang kaugalingong mantika during frying pan heating.
