Hi istoryans..ako lang i.share akong experience about sa among trip sa Ilocos pag April.. sa katong nakaadto nasad, pwede ramo mu.share pud diri.. para readers can get insights, tips, and inspiration. 😊

Our iterinary Vigan (Ilocos Sur) - Laoag (Ilocos Sur) - Pagudpud (Ilocos Norte)

Our starting point was in Mandaluyong, then in Ilocos our accommodation / base was in Pagudpud

Day 1 Vigan Tour
We left Mandaluyong at around 12mn
Travel time to Vigan : approx 10 hours
1) Hidden Garden - diri mi nag.lunch.. try Bagnet (lechon kawali version sa Ilocos) and Poqui-poqui (eggplant basically)!.. then try sad mo roam around the place, kung ganahan mog flowers and plants, mag.enjoy mo diri
2) Pagburnayan pottery - pwede mo maka.try diri hands on how to make a clay pot. Hatag lang mog donation.
3) Elpidio Quirino memorabilia hall - makita ninyo where the former president lived. It was a jail diay sauna
4) st. Paul cathedral
Nangaon pud mi sa ilang empanada ilocos version..wa ko kebaw s tnan ingredient pero naay ilocos longganisa and egg
5) vigan heritage village - suroy2x sa kalye crisologo, inom og sugar cane juice, appreciating the spanish houses, daghan pud souvenirs diri
6) bantay bell tower
7) baluarte - like a mini zoo

Then we travelled to pagudpud for approx 4 hours. Among accommodation was Homestay. Basically a house, but airconditioned rooms, shared CR. Ideal for big groups. Pwede sila makaluto but naay bayad. Breakfast lang ang free

Day 2 Laoag Tour
From pagudpud to laoag approx 2 hours travel
Pero niagi mi daan sa
1) Bangui Windmill around 1 hr from pagudpud.. appreciate the technology of generating power
2) Kapurpurawan rock formation in Burgos.. one of nature's wonders.. nndut jud.. naa lang parts nga off limits
3) cape bujador
4) marcos museum in Batac - makita nmu preserved body ni marcos and their family history
5) paoay church - picturesque facade
6) sand dunes - diri na ang extreme adventure.. extreme ride s 4x4 truck nga murag roller coaster nya iagi paka sa kilid sa cliff. Not for the faint heart. Then sand boarding. Lingaw!

Day 3 Pagudpud
1) Went to saud beach, kay walking distance from our accommodation. not white sand but nindut kaayo for a morning walk. Makita sad nmu from afar ang windmills
2) then sa Pagudpud beach nami naligo.. nindut kaayo. Not as white as virgin island in bohol or boracay, but same beauty. Nag.banana boat mi at 1800 per 5 pax nga tuyuon jud kag hulog sa boat, pang.experience. haha
3) patapat viaduct - picture2x sa bridge nga liko liko..careful lang s mga sakyanan muagi

Worth it ang 3 days. Daghan jud ka ma.experience sa ilocandia tour.. historical, adventure, og nature trip sya. Kapoy lang jud ang byahe.

sa among 3 sa akong husband og 2 year old nga anak kay around 15k sya, apil sa packaged tour, food, groceries/toiletries og katong sa adventure sa sand dunes og sa banana boat. sa packaged tour, we were with family and friends.

Went on a solo backpacking trip ko for 1 month sa northern luzon,
here are some of my experiences sa ilocos trip:
VIGAN (May 19, 2016)
- The Calle Crisologo = is nice kung dili peak season like summer, kanang gamay ra tao kay daghan photo bomber. then it's better to go there kadlawn like 5am or sunset like 5pm.
- Food trip = Ni kaon ko sa CJ's empanada, mga giant man ilang impanada, imbis pang snacks ra unta to nako nadala nag dinner hahaha. Ni kaon sad ko ug vigan longganisa sa cafe leona tag 140 pesos abi ko with rice na ug sa dihang 40 pesos ang rice hahaha.
- Dancing fountain = you must be there on or before 7pm kay 7:30 mag start, para maka pwesto ka sa pinaka taas na bench para walay maka salipod sa imong view inig tanaw. nindot sa tunga2 facing the middle fountain, atbang sa control room.
- Padre Burgos house and provincial jail = nindot sad ang balay, naay aircon na part sa jail hahaha. nindot pictorial sa jail
- Chapel by the Ruins = don't miss this after sa bantay bell tower, nindot sad epray diri
- Plaza = nindot mag icecream diri
- Toured Vigan by foot hahaha wala ko nag kalesa or tricycle
- Stayed at Vigan hotel for 395

BATAC - PAOAY (May 20, 2016)
- Marcos Museum = nindot sad diri kay aircon haha, take your time here, I think you can ask a staff to tour you inside para siya na mag story telling and explain sa history, naki hitch rako ug group diri daghan sad ko na kat-onan haha.
- Paoay Church = nindot sad pa picture diri
- Foodtrip = lahi ilang empanada naay mga special2 pero mas lamian gihapon ko sa vigan, also tried Miki, tried bagnet, dinengdeng.
- Paoay Lake = naay story ang lake hahaha. check it out
- Sand dunes = since ako ra isa, ni sugot sila 700 ra ako bayad solo na nako ang 4x4 hahaha. pwerting lingawa! pero pwerting inita sad kay 1pm ko ni adto, ako ray tao. solo kaayo ang lugar hahaha bahalag init.
- Malacanang of the north = nindot mag chill diri or siesta kadali, overlooking sa lake.
- Fort Ilocandia = sosyal na resort pwede ra mu sud magpa picture2

LAOAG (May 20, 2016)
- Sinking Bell Tower = nindot untag maka saka sa taas
- Museo Ilocos Norte = nindot sad evisit diri
- pag adto nako naay lightshow sa capitol haha fiesta manto, swerteha
- Tobacco monopoly monument = nindot pa picture diri katong naay dako na sign LAOAG
- Stayed in Texicano for 350

BURGOS - PAGUDPUD (May 21-23, 2016)
- Cape Bojeador = pag anhi nako diri, grabe ka daghan tao hahaha. lisod kuha picture. okay2 ra sad ang view
- Kapurpurawan Rock formation = SAMOT sad ka daghan tao pag adto nako, daghan pwede pictorials ngadto, just walk further
- Saud Beach = better than blue lagoon / hannah's , less touristy but medyo daghan seaweed and ga habagat ato na time
- Bangui Windmills = #2 sa highlights sa ilocos trip, Nagmahay ko ngano wa ko nag camp diri (my original plan huhu) the place was windy and wavy, ganahan kaayo ko ngadto. I think there are 3 view spots diri, and I think the best one is near kangkang cafe. Katong ako naa ko sa east tip sa windmills.
- Kabigan falls = igo rako ni naog sa tourism outpost, wa nako ni padayon kay naa koy mission lain hahaha medyo mu kaon ug time sa falls gud then pagkita nako sa pictures di man kaayo nindot.
- Bantay Abot Cave and Timmangtang rock = okay ra naay funny story ang driver haha
- Hannah's = sobra ka touristy, pero nindot etry sa zipline na taas! wa lang ko kay mahal nya kas oras haha nagdali sad ko ato kay nag apas kos oras padung Aparri
- Dos hermanos = nindot e-explore diri maka remember ko sa the beach na movie haha
- Patapat viaduct = picture taking, bantay2 lang sa sakyanan
- Luzon's Northermost Tip = my #1 highlight sa 1 month backpacking trip. I don't think people ever go to this place, wa sad ko kita sa internet mga blogs about ani. check sa map: 18°39'04.6"N 120°50'46.4"E
- stayed in a Uddon homestay for 250


Tips:
#1 Don't go on a weekend, samot na kung peak season like summer. daghan kaayo tao
#2 Expect a long roadtrip, medyo kapoy pero enjoy it lang!
#3 The more people the cheaper (accommodation / tours) find people to cut the cost
#4 Try ilocano food
#5 Bring protection from the sun (arm sleeves, lotion, hat, umbrella, etc...)
#6 Wear light and pack light
#7 Hydrate and Enjoy!

Hi TS,

Ang amo Trip ba kay similar sa inyo, mugikan og night sa Manila then maabot morning Ilocos and start dayon sa Tour. Does this mean wala tay ligo ani the entire day until sa 1st Check in?

Or naka stop mo somewhere para ligo2x or ilis?
