I beg to disagree with these suggestions ms. yumi.
Always remember there are no bad dogs, only bad owners.

Sagpaon iyang baba? sipaon ang dog?
Imo daoton iya temperament? Remember a ShihPoo (or any mixed breed) if gi-breed lang for the sake nga makaproduce lang ug puppies may lead to disaster. Temperament of mixed, cross breeds are usually questionable. Musamot kaguba iya batasan ana.

If your dog bites at anyway, then the owner is usually at fault not the dog. Biting shoes, slippers, legs suggest that your dog lacks exercise and owner time for his dog. licking one's legs may indicate the dog needs your attention. Biting for them becomes an outlet para mapagawas nila ilang play drive.
Sometimes kanang mo lick is a sign of your dog becoming dominant. Subtle signs that you have to be carefull as dominant dog may ead to becoming aggressive too.

A simple NO command kay masabtan ra sa imo dog if you know how to do it.

Maybe sakto ka sir quantum. Am not yet a dog owner. Just sharing what my friend told me. Will have to do more research before I get a dog of my own.

Yes maam yumi pls take time to research before you get a dog. A puppy may look so cute but could become a monster if the owner does not know how to take care of it.
If ever you get one, take time to train your dog.
Clicker training is the best so far as i am concerned.
Research on the subtle signs that your dog may become dominant, This is dangerous and you don't want that to happen.
Just always remember that there are no bad dogs, only bad owners.
Ask yourself if you are willing to have a dog that may live upto 16 years.

ako pinka hadlok na experience with my shih-poo is when i bought him a chew bone(kanang raw hide) then gnhan kaayo cya.

since sa kwarto tig katulog ako dog, ako gitawag but busy mn cya kitkit sa iya bone, so ako siya gi pick up then ng growl cya. so ako gi butang sa floor then iya gi pick iya bone then nisud cya sa iyang cage

sige japon ko tawag nya so i tried picking up the bone, to attract him unta... but he growled and Bit me so fast. (nakurat ko) i pulled my hand and na garas(nasamad pero tungod ra pg bira nko) luckily completo na vaccinations sako puppy.

lesson learned, they could be possessive jd labi na sa bone. mao to ako lang cya gi tagaan ug treats and made him feel na dili nko kuhaon ang bone.. na OK na cya hehe

mag 10months na cya soon his name is "boo"

2 months then 9 months pic haha!

May i comment on your post.
    That is not "possessive"
Your dog is showing signs of dominance and you have to be careful kay basig naa pa ni siyay gipakita nga uban signs pero wala lang gyud nimo mabasa iya character.
    - he is showing signs of being an Alpha dog. Wala ka niya giila nga Alpha "dog". Siya ang "leader of the pack" dili ikaw.
Dominance could led to Agressiveness and that could be dangerous.

    Unsa iyang uban character?
    - does he run through the door first when you open the door?
    - jumps into your bed when you open the door?
    - does he jump into the car or out of the car before you telling him to do so?
    - kung magsuroy mo in leash siya, muuna ba ni siya nimo unya mulingi if gasunod ka?
    - if naa alleyway inyo balay, muhigda ba ni siya sa tunga unya inig agi nimo dili siya muhawa?
If there is a YES answer to the above, you show be careful.

Dogs are naturally territorial, so iyang paghot is just normal. Although jumping towards a person, especially sa iyang amo is not a good sign. It could possibly mean " ako ang imo unahon" dili ang uban sa balay. If naay gamay nga bata, unya magingana imo dog, careful lang kay basig ang bata iyang pagselosan.

Dogs that are usually kept in the kennel when let out usually are very energetic, runs around, bites on whatever they can find (slippers, shoes, etc). The reason for these is they want to release their store energy. It is most advisable to have time foe your dog. A daily walk, play and bonding with its owner. Socializing with other dogs is also important. You may want to obedience train your dog. Try CLICKER TRAINING. It is very easy for yourself to train your own dog.
I have the impression that dogs that barks ay anything are dogs that lacks steady nerves.

Dili ni para sa iyang tangled hairs kay i-regular brushing man ni namo siya gud.
Nya if hairy na jud kaayo, kami-kami ra mag-groom-groom!
Asa ka nagpalit aning Madre de Cacao (mdc) shampoo ?
