i think only Duterte has a solid platform: stopping crime and federalism

the other candidates are all focused on generic campaign and same old message every election, "We will suceed", "i will not steal"..

Miriam is the author of the Archipelagic Baseline Law which reaffirmed our country’s claims to its territorial waters, including its extended continental shelf, economic zones, and the Kalayaan Islands off Palawan and the Scarborough Shoal in the western seaboard. The law immediately drew “strong opposition and solemn protest” from China.

Before the passing of this law, the Philippines’ existing baselines, as defined by Republic Act 3046 and amended by RA 5446, are not compliant with the parameters set under UNCLOS. On 10 March 2009, the President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed into law Republic Act 9522 in accordance with the deadline set by UN.

"Before we rush to a baseline bill, lawmakers should first have the benefit of advice from international law experts. Otherwise, to a great extent, we lose our sovereignty over our own internal waters. That would be anomalous, because our archipelago will become an open maritime highway. Filipino fishermen will have to compete in our own waters with foreign fishermen," Senator Santiago said a year before her baseline bill was enacted into law.

"I cannot defend a bill that will turn over our internal waters to foreigners, and run the high risk of being declared as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court,” continued by Santiago, who is also a constitutional law expert.
