Public humiliation might really come into play. After all, being an ouster president is already a big blow to his pride. What more his conviction? But then, he has to prove first that he deserves the pardon he wanted. Otherwise, it will all be futile to bring criminal into the justice system for them to be penalized if in the end we will be persuaded by our human nature to sympathize an old man.

It’s not only Erap who's learning with this issue. We should learn to abide with the rules of law.

Some of our countrymen sympathize so much with Erap's plight since after his ouster. But the question is, did Erap sympathize with the rest of the Filipino nation living in poverty when he plundered the deposits of the GSIS and SSS members. He lives in his posh mansions and even had the chance to serve his penalty in a rest house while there are many poor prisoners in small detention cells in Munti.

Some of our countrymen feel that all these is too much for him. Didn't he have a good life while he was in office, or even while he was an actor? This is his chance to feel what the downtrodden feels and what persecution is experienced by our poor kababayans. If we feel pity for Erap, we should feel pity for the small time mangaganchos too. Equality right?

If i pardon si ERAP, i pardon nalang tanan naa sa prisuhan.
Dili raman cguro si erap ra ang naay relative na kamatyonon nga ganahan cya to spend the last days sa iya loved one. How about ang uban nga mas deserving ug pardon?

Erap is excited to go home within the week. His sons are confident because Erap said he talked to someone that kind of assured him that he will be pardoned. For the sake of the success in the battle against corruption, please do not pardon Erap. In the first place he should have served his sentence in jail and not in a resthouse. Sometime in the first week of November it is said that the Sandiganbayan will determine where Erap would be detained. If Erap is pardoned this week, then the 6 years we waited for his verdict will be useless. Sa hinaba-haba ng prosisyon si Erap din ba ang mananalo? Hindi dapat!

My sentiments exactly, why waste money on the trial when i pardon raman d i. Wala man gani siya na priso, daghan pa privelege.

I hope the president considers the pulse of the people. Only the Erap camp is saying that the grant of pardon will be a call for unity. Erap's charisma has waned so much. In fact, his conviction just proves that the people has become apathetic on what will be the future for him.

No one questioned the decision of the court, except the Erap camp. If he deserves the pardon, it might be a consideration. However, he's not repentant of his sins. He keeps on saying that he is innocent but wanted to avail the pardon. What sense does it make?

I don't think that Erap should be given a pardon because 1) he contested the ruling of the court by appealing for reconsideration 2) he keeps proclaiming his innocence and hasn't owned up to his crimes then 3) when he was first offered the idea of a pardon, he declined it straight and flat. Ka-hilas.

He is a beaten dog, whining for a bone. If thrown one, I hope he chokes on it.
