Sakto rick, ni mahal gyud ang ganador. Ang rice sufficiency nga ilang plano wa ma tuman. Karun mas ni taas atong importation sa rice.

Pero if tong i compute gikan sa P42 pag 2010, average yoy inflation nato of 3.5%-3.7% (based sa world bank data) P50.0 ra unta.

    compounded yoy calculation:
    expected price = P42.00 * ((1 + (0.036 /1)) ^ 5 )
    expected price = P50.12

only chance mu naog ni ang presyo kay if : mag negative inflation ta (economic deflation) , or naay oversupply gikan sa gawas. tanan nasod naa gyuy gamay inflation, kay mao mani ang pagi mu stimulate sa economy. hopfully kung mas maayo pagyud atong economya pagka dala sa sunod na mga mu lingkod, hinaot mu ubos atong inflation to 1-2% na lang (mao ni ang nindot na level), kay if ma hitabu na most likely mu saka pa gyud atong credit rating.

    inflation data:
Inflation, consumer prices (annual %) | Data | Table

example of country nga ga deflation:
Greece - Greece Is In A Deflationary Spiral

    country na taas kaayug inflation:
Venezuela - Food inflation: It’s getting hard for Venezuela to feed itself

Since bugas man ang #1 food crop sa Pilipinas, and to think agricultural country ta but why ni samot ka mahal ang bugas sa pilipinas? Because mainly cge pa ta ug import ug mga bugas to met high its demand. Why nag cge pa ta ug import since 1869 (i read somwhere)? due to many major factors: Rapid population increase, very poor farming laws, yearly rice plantation damages from typhoons or el nino and our way of life sa pag consume sa rice (usikan kaau ta).

I would like to point out mas naka apekto ni ang population og very poor farming laws.. which could have drastically uplift the rice problems if gi address ni cya sa una pa.

How can we somehow lower rice prices? Govnt should first address the problems in hand - Over population, how to properly handle natural calamities, address the production costs and low productivity and to focus on proper land use maximizes resources and empower the agriculture sectors. It is clear that the government should have set a clear and national policy on food and nutrition security.

I agree yohks dapat self sufficient unta ta sa rice, but correction yhokz dli nata agricultural country, service country nata.

To think during Marcos years we were still exporting rice to other countries and rice scientist flew here to study at UPLB about rice farming. Now it's a total role reversal? Why? Because some people got rich of this importation that's why they prefer it that producing our own. I've been to other asian countries and I've noticed that in terms of soil fertility we were one of the blessed countries, proof of that is that our wild trees produces fruits. Ako pasabot aning wild trees kanang mga kahoy nga walay nag galam, nga nitubo lang ug ilaha. In SG, they have mango trees but bears no fruits that's why I always felt that even though they are rich financially, they are also not blessed with natural resources they are really "sterile" country. This is what I remember in my elementary years, I always hear our social studies teacher say that we are rich in natural resources, too bad we have really bad leaders. Di ko mo agree nga we are 100% service industry country kay kaning service industry naa ra ni sa urban areas, if we compare the land mass of our urban with rural areas gamay ra kaau ang urban area. We could have done so much for agriculture, if not for our corrupt leaders.
