    Default VRam, DDR5? Unsa man gyud ni?

    For noob's understanding, how does it affect gaming? Is higher VRAM better? Unsa may sweet spot, say sa 1080p nga resolution?

    Salamat ug Maayong Pasko!

    for the VRAM, the higher/ faster speed, the better... right now, stacked die memory (HBM - high bandwidth memory) is better than DDR5 but its not implemented accross the board yet but reserved to a choosen few... hehehehe...

    for an 1080p resolution, it all depends on the games that you'll play. for games with very large textures, 2 GB VRAM would be the sweet spot granting, the game is well optimized for PC platform... Skyrim V: Elder Scrolls would be an exemption. maxed out textures will eat away nearly 3 GB or more of the VRAM... there are only a handful of games that will really need more than 2 GB VRAM on 1080p. newer titles still looks better even on High GFX setting and not in Ultra...

    so, in short, VRAM depends on your favorite gaming title @ 1080p... or, here's a general rule of thumb for a single monitor (optimized)... if its multi-monitor config, the more VRAM, the better...

    1080p -> 2 GB VRAM... even a 1GB VRAM is more than enough for most games @ 1080p on maxed out GFX
    2K -> 3 GB VRAM
    4K -> 4 GB VRAM

    by the way, high VRAM capacity will only be utilized on games by the powerful GPU chip. if paired with a not so powerful GPU chip. dili magamit ang VRAM kay weak ang GPU...

    you just check the game's fps bro @ maxed out GFX setting. the higher fps, the better... for the R9 270x, it can play 4X MSAA on heavy GFX gaming titles... MSAA is taxing for the GPU... you may dial down the MSAA to a lower number to increase the games fps... like 2X MSAA...

    kun naa kay Crysis 3, nice ni sya pang benchmark sa AA (Anti Aliasing) sa GPU...

    2 Games nga akong nahibaw-an nga grabe kaayo og VRAM consumption- Shadow of Mordor & Call of Duty Black Ops 3. .even if running @ 1080p Ultra settings ang Shadow of Mordor mo kaon na og 4GB VRAM, how much more if u'll run this game @ 1440p & 4k, ,Katong nka GTX Titan pako, i couldn't believe it nga ang COD BO3 ni abot og 6GB VRAM (gkaon ang full capacity VRAM sa akong titan). .if more than VRAM consumption man gd ang game than the GPU, ara na mo stutter ang game).. even if kaya sa imong GPU to run the game @ 60FPS...as you can see hasta ang RAM consumption hapit na ma 8GB..

    ^ is that a bug on the game? or super nice kaayo ang visual ani nila maong mang lamo'y ug VRAM? para sa akoang, basta dili kaayo nice pag optimize ang game sa PC platform, mo kaon ni sya'g resources bisan bati ang GFX nya... 2nd, kun grabeh gyud ang textures na i load sa games, then, mo kaon pud ni siya'g VRAM...

    sa ani na choices, asa man ang visuals aning duha? naa ko'y Shadow of Mordor pero, wla pa ko maka duwa gyud. wla ko'y time... wla ko'y COD Black Ops 3...

    wla ra ba ko'y 120 or above refresh rate mointors sa balay bro... dili gyud ko maka tubag ug sakto nimo sa ani na inqiury... pero, sa akoang tan-aw lang ha, kumbate ra ang 1 GB VRAM GPUs on moba games sa ana na resolution... gaan man ni sa GPU ang mga moboa compared aning mga FPS or RPG gaming titles man gud... moga games were all designed to be played by the masses and not for the elite few so, dili ni sila pili-an ug HW requirements...

    VRAM is used to render images (textures and other info needed) on the screen. the bigger the size, the more vram it needs. maong kun puno na ang VRAM, sa HDD or SSD na sya mag gamit for swap file. while the monitor's refresh rate is related to the V-sync. dili ni kaay sya mag depend sa VRAM size... (if sayop ko, please correct me on this... i'm not an expert on this

    huwat ta'g comments sa mga ka kusa nato na naa'y mga 120 Hz monitors and above para mo comment...

    While I only have a 60Hz 1080p monitor, I play Dota 2 without V-sync enabled (because V-ysnc increases input lag) and I hit the 120 FPS standard frame cap for Dota 2 with all my settings maxed, no AA (also increases input lag) on an R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 @stock clocks, i7-3770.

    Dota 2 is not a VRAM intensive game. While I can't say I've closely monitored how much VRAM I'm using, I haven't seen the % of use go further than about 65% (roughly 2GB usage). I can't, however, vouch for Dota 2 custom games. Some are more GPU intensive. LoL is an even lighter game in terms of system requirements.

    For 1080p 144 Hz, I'd say 2GB is still sufficient for Mobas. For other, more graphically intensive games, you will need a little more, but not more than 4GB (Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor with hi-res textures comes very close though).

    @lloyd_joy & @robz0996 salamat mga boss. Naglibog jud ko sa ako next gpu. Light games rman ako ginadula karon pero wala ta kabalo basin naay ganhan sunod na graphic intensive game.

    Gsale baya unta ang r9 285 2gb sa pchub karon adlawa, tag 6300 ra.
