I was 7 or 8 years old during the martial law years when I can still vividly remember my parents being hauled up from our residence, gipaluhod ug gitutukan ug M16 by the Constabulary, it was quite traumatic seeing and witnessing your parents on that situation. My parents are honest public school teachers, and being election officials, they were forced to pad and doctor the results of the 1986 presidential elections in favor of Marcos. My father was forced to eat and swallow the actual election returns to be replaced by a doctored election returns as instructed by the PC. Even now, my hands were shaking recalling all these.

Having witnessed the atrocities of the Marcoses during those times were still vivid, from time to time l can still recall how my father wailed and cried in front of our house and at the end of the gun's barrel asking the PC to spare us.
