I need some input or ideas about on our existing Seagate NAS.

    Specs:
    4 3TB of HDD
    Raid Type : Raid 5
    Brand : Seagate

Problems encountered previously our Seagate NAS Raid Type is : Volume Span

during Volume Span nga Configuration we encounter that one of HDD Failed (Defective) automatically all of the remaining HDD is no longer usable all files were deleted.

after the issue, we purchased new hdd replacement sa damaged / defective the same specs sa remaining hdd.

so we have now 4 3TB HDD. after that we re configure the Seagate NAS into Raid 5 na (3 HDD is active and usable and the remaining one is for Backup).

after one week we encounter one hdd failure (old hdd) so ang current status nalang sa among seagate backup is
instead of 4pcs of 3TB HDD( 3pcs 3TB HDD usable / active and 1pc 3TB for backup), we have now 3pcs of 3TB HDD(3pcs of 3TB HDD Usabe / Active and No more Backup )

    see image below

so means magamit ra gihapon namo ang remaining 3pcs of 3TB HDD but wala me spare for backup in case naay maguba nga hdd sa 3.

after the issue nag request dayon me ug another 3TB HDD para ma replace namo ang damaged but unfortunately after 5days, we found out that one of our HDD(installed in Seagate NAS) failed turned to defective.

so we have currently 2pcs of 3TB HDD remaining all of the files is not accessible .

    thanks
have you confirmed this is a hardware failure and not caused by a buggy NAS software on that product? as you may have mistakenly referred failure to data corruption to one of those later failed disk.

    Hi Sir ,
the first problem we encountered it was checked by /\/g Kh/\I technician as we observe what they do is more on configuration.
in the 2nd hdd failure we diagnose the problem and reported it to /\/g Kh/\I technician as they advised that we can do it in our own the way they performed NAS Diagnostic.

gigamitan pud namo ug Backup UPS ES-500 para preparation sa kalit2 nga power interruption.

    thank you sa input sir

i only performed manual diagnostic and make some observation with the suspected damaged hdd.

and i just found it out seems there is also a failure of the hard disk drive. after seconds gikan sa pag on, it will suddenly lost the power mismo sa suspected hard disk drive.

    thanks sa input sir.
