Default Russia Launches Airstrikes in Syria

U.S., others to Russia: Stop targeting Syria opposition - CNN.com

(CNN)Russian jets have launched 18 attacks inside Syria over the last 24 hours, according to the country's official news agency, despite international concern about the military campaign.

The Tass news agency reported Friday that Russia had "conducted 18 sorties against 12 facilities of the Islamic State terrorist group," quoting Igor Konashenkov, the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.
But international officials and some people inside Syria doubt that Russia is limiting its attacks to ISIS.
Friday marks the third day Russia has carried out airstrikes in Syria.

The Russian naval facility in Tartus is a leased military installation of the Russian Navy located in the port of the city of Tartus, Syria. Russian official usage classifies the installation as a Material-Technical Support Point (Russian: Пункт материально-технического обеспечения, ПМТО) and not a "base". Tartus is the Russian Navy's only Mediterranean repair and replenishment spot, sparing Russia’s warships the trip back to their Black Sea bases through the Turkish Straits

US Secretary of State John Kerry has declared that military pressure may be needed to oust Syria’s President Bashar Assad. It comes as knowledge has emerged that the US, along with Turkey, has started training Syrian rebels.

The attacks are done against "ISIS", but tends to use these strikes to cause collateral damage on the US supported Syrian Rebels who are anti-Assad. Putin wish to put Russia back on a pedestal, regain its status as a Global superpower.

There are four factions fighting currently in Syria. Assad's Regime, the Syrian Rebels, the Kurds and ISIS.

It's a 4-way war. Assad is fighting the rebels and ISIS. The rebels are fighting against Assad and ISIS. The Kurds are fighting ISIS, which in a much simplier perspective ISIS is fighting all three (Assad, Syrian Rebels and the Kurds).

-Russia and Iran are supporting Assad
-US, NATO, Arab League and Al Qaeda are supporting the Syrian Rebels

Plus Hezbollah, Israel, Jordan and Turkey.

Hezbollah is doing the dirty job for Assad in Lebanon-Syria border.

Turkey is supporting rebel factions in the north and allowed foreign Jihadists to cross from its border into Syria . While Israel and Jordan supporting the Al Nusra front in the south of Damascus such as Golan heights border & Daraa.
